I decided for one of my secret santa gifts - not BB, as I'm not participating this year :) - I decided to make some lip gloss/balm and shower scrub.
For the shower scrub, I've found a nice little jar to decant it into.
However, with the lip balm, I've got nothing. I can't find anything either.
Is there a website or shop I can buy a nice smallish jar, suitable for lip balms, from?
It's driving me insane! Once I have it, that present is complete!
Any ideas?
Tupperware has smigons... if they are small enough (probably not!). Somewhere that sells candle-making equipment?
New Directions have containers for make up etc.
Can you post the recipes please ?????
I have one of those Tupperware jars, but then she'd know it was from me... I used to be a Tupperware demonstrator...
That said: MrsMac, the recipes are direct from a Tupperware Recipe sheet! Not quite sure how you'd do it without the Tupperware though... but don't let that stop you
Coconut Lip Balm
Makes : 80g
Prep : 5 minutes
Ingredients:
20g Aloe Vera Gel
20g Vaseline or Petroleum Jelly
40g Coconut Oil
Method (as on the Tupperware recipe sheet)
Measure ingredients with digital scales, placing them in the Tupperwave 1 litre jug. Mix ingredients together with spatula until well combined.
Cover jug and microwave on medium (500 watts) for 2 minutes. Stir with the spatula until smooth.
Let balm cool slightly. Pour a portion of the balm into the Travel Accessories Creme Jar and the remainder can be poured into a TupperCare Snack Cup. Let the balm cool completely and then apply to the lips as often as required.
HONEY SCRUB
Makes : approximately 300ml
Prep : 5 minutes
Ingredients:
20g sea salt flakes
40g brown sugar
40g sorbolene creme
15g 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil
10g honey (at room temperature)
METHOD:
Using digital scales, measure ingredients and placing them in the Quick Chef II, with the paddle whisk attachment. Cover and process until combined.
Using a spatula, remove excess contents from the sides of the Quick Chef II. Scrub should be slightly runny in consistency.
Apply a small amount to desired area (hands, feet, knees, heels or elbows) and gently massage in a circular motion. Leave mixture on the skin for 15 minutes.
Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Use on a weekly basis to keep skin velvety smooth.
What about Manicare pots from the chemist/priceline Scone? You know, they make little travel sized jars for you to take when you travel?
Hairhouse warehouse have little pots with screw lids that are perfect for lip balms, I've used them before.

Depending how many you want to make try a wedding bonbonarie place.
I used to get jars from the chemist. I think they are only available if you are in the trade or something, so I got my chemist to order them in for me. Medical grade which is exactly what you need for something that can go rancid really quickly if air gets to it.
I suppose you could google medical supplies or something, but I'd think you would have to order in large amounts as a one off.

I love the New Directions containers for when I am organised enough to have aromatherapy gifts made for Christmas! Some of the designs you can only get if you're getting over 1000 of them, but you still get nice ones individually, or in less bulk.
Auroma also sells containers online, as well as raw materials. They have the little lip balm containers with a screw top.
