Icing Recipe
I am making DS's birthday cake on Saturday for his party on sunday and I am after a nice icing recipe (mine usually just tastes like butter).
He has requested a Thomas cake-lucky me- so I am going to cheat and make a rectangle cake and ice it so has the island of sodor (going to die some coconut green) surrounded by water blue icing then I will make train tracks from licorice and pop a thomas on top- anyway thats beside the point. What is your tastiest and most successful recipe for icing cakes.
TIA

185gm butter
2.25 cups icing sugar
2 tablespoons milk
Beat butter until light and fluffy, add icing sugar gradually, and finally milk to consitency desired.
This iced 50 cupcakes for me the other day... not sure how large your cake will be though! lol

Mine is pretty much the same as Lime's, and it doesn't taste buttery at all.

Yeah you have to beat the butter until pale to lose that buttery taste.
