*help* trying to pinpoint exact ovulation

Hi everyone -

I had ovulation pain at 3pm the following day I had the mucus - my question is when would have ovulation occured? The day I got the Pain? or the following night when i had the mucus? I am TTC a girl and im feeling it was too close to O as I didnt think I was O'ing that soon only a day or 2 out lol -

we :bd: on the friday night (he had been away for 2 weeks- so obviously he would have had a very high :bluesperm: count? and then I didn't expect to O until another 4 days - 42 hours later I felt the O pain and then freaked out i was too close for the shettles method - then the further 24 hours to this pain I had the fertile mucus.. what are the chances do you think when did I have the O the pain or the mucus?

I would say you O'd some time soon after the pain.

Hate to say it but I think this is what happened to me with this pg, we weren't actively trying to fall preg but I thought we would be safe as I was sure I didn't actually o for another 4 or 5 days after we DTD. 2/ 3 weekslater there I was pregnant with number 5 (I was happy about that LOL, as I did want more) I thought for sure with the timing of it all it would be a girl. But I must have O'd earlier then I thought because its another boy.

I am agreeing with FJ here. I am doing IUI atm & when they trigger me to O, I get pain then I know I O 36-72 hrs later b/c I have the AI done. The other thing you need to be aware is sperm can live up to five days in fertile conditions......

we are trying for a girl we have 2 boys;)) I had the morning after pill once I felt O as it was way too close. Got my AF from that today ;( back to charting again I soo don't get the temperature thing I need some serious lessons there

Some trivia... actually those pains can occur hours AFTER ovulation. The rupture of the ripe follicle expels fluid into the abdomen which irritates the lining of the abdomen causing cramping, and it is the cramping we feel. This can take between minutes and hours.
