Anyone else trying after having Implanon removed?

So I had my Implanon taken out in August just after getting back from going away on honeymoon with DH - I wouldn't say we're exactly "trying" more than "not trying not to" as other than starting to pay attention to my cycles a little we're not doing much more than enjoying being newlyweds :p

However I am wondering a little as my doctor did warn me that it could take a while for everything to settle back into a good cycle and fall pregnant as I was one of the lucky ones with depo/implanon that don't get real periods when on it other than a little breakthrough spotting now and then. The product info I've read seems to suggest things go back to normal pretty quickly and I seem to be back into a regular cycle now (forgotten how much of an evil witch AF is - ugh) so I'm hoping it might be sooner rather than later.

So has anyone else fallen pregnant after being in implanon and how long did it take?

i had implanon put in when ds1 was a few weeks old, but had to have it removed after 6 months, i was one of the unlucky ones it made me very sick, had heavy bleeding that started within weeks of it being placed, witch lasted untill it was removed, i also had trouble with the removal, as im a fast healer, after just 6 months my muscle had started to heal arround it! (yuck) but i didnt go on anything after it was taken out, as we decided we wanted another when ds was one, so like you, didnt realy try, but didnt stop it if it did happen, 6 months later on ds1's forst birthday we were about a month preg, just found out but wernt saying anything.

Hey congrats and thanks for sharing - it's a little confusing with the contradiction in advice given by the doc and what all the info I've read suggests. I know it's early days for us at this stage, but my cycle seems to be dropping back into a regular pattern so hoping it won't take long - my daughter is determined that she's having a baby sister someday but we'll have to wait and see ;)

Hi Cranky Kitten, I've had implanon out in August this year and was told by my doctor that i could get pregnant the very next day. However, so far no BFP for me either. I have found out though that I have LP of only 8/9 days - though was told this has nothing to do with implanon.

For me AF has been regular since implanon was removed - odd since it never was before I had it and like you i never had regular periods with it in.

I fell pregnant on my 3rd cycle after implanon removal so it didn't take that long for everything to go back to normal. HTH xo

I got it after DD1 and had it removed early due to my arm rejecting it still have bad scaring and pain from it. I got pregnant 2-3 months later (we were going to start trying in a few months so a few months sooner than expected) DD2 has just turned 1

I was on implanon for 7 years, during this time I only ever had three periods. ( lucky me ) I removed the implanon June 2010.Period returned July, August, September, by October I was pregnant. All the best :dance:

I was told it would wear off very fast too, I didn't get pg until 8 months after it was out but we werent trying, was just lucky not to fall pg as it turns out.

I had the implanon in for 18 months. Took it out in June, period returned in september and conceived the following june/July. I was told everything would go back to normal as soon as it came out but it didn't. I was also a lucky one not to get a period or any bleeding at all with it in. Good luck ttc!

I had my Implanon removed June 15 last year after having it in for 12 months. I was one of those ladies that never got AF while on it. I had to have it removed as it caused complications after surgery on my ankle causing a deep vein thrombosis in my calf. The blood doc's only advised me of removing it 6 months after the DVT and lots of blood thinners as I was still suffering calf pain.

Anyway my cycle didn't miss a beat, straight back to 28 day cycle and we have now been trying for 9 cycles with not even a hint of a BFP. I am guessing it has nothing to do with the Implanon as I ovulated that first cycle after it was removed and everything is like clockwork. Only thing I have noticed is my PMS is 10 times worse than it was before I had the implanon put in.

Implanon :sick: I had it removed in early Sept, took until January to get my period back then until the following Sept to get two periods in a row.
I fell pregnant in Dec that year so 15mths to concieve.

Got it taken out in sept, fell pregnant the following august (12 cycles later)

11 months (8-9 cycles, not certain) for me.
