What has it done to my MCNs???

DD has had nasty nappy rash, on the advice of a pharmacist we have been dousing it in Daktozin (a zinc-based anti-fungal cream) and then Curash powder. Seems to be working - but I do plan on switching to Nappy Goo on someone else's advice as I don't want to use the Daktozin too much longer.

Anyway - the lashings of zinc cream don't seem to want to fully wash out of our nappies! I've washed two loads now and a few of them still have sticky zincky stuff on them.

Am I damaging the nappy? How can I get the zinc out of them??

A strip wash on super hot with a drop of dishwashing liquid should do the trick. A gentle scrub with a nail brush works if all else fails. Make sure only boosters go in super hot though because it can kill the shells. If you want to use MCNs with nappy rash zinc based cream put a liner in

you know..heaven forbid, you can actually make alittle nappy san paste and use that along with a toothbrush or nail brush and ge tit out.
Nappy san can be used on MCN''s once in a blue moon for this sort of thing.

What sort of liners are you using??? You will need to NOT use the ones that look like Chux, the commercial ones.
Best bet is going for a raw silk or a microfleece liner with creams.

The other thing is make sure you are using an anti fugal on your nappies EVERY wash, and in the strip wash, also you can use a lavender or tea tree solution with your wipes at every nappy change with bubs, this will kill the fungal infection causing the nappy rash and is a lot better for bubs skin that that hideous cream from the chemist. \

Also, stop using the powder, it will be making the problem worse, and is incredibly bad for girls.
