I am about to move my little man into a bed. Does anyone have any recommendations on good beds?
The one I bought for my DD has quite sharp corners and she is always scratching herself on the corners.
So would love to hear people's favourite bedroom suits and any bad reviews as well.

Don't know if it's what you're after, (I cant see your sig so i don't know how old your little one is, but maybe consider a toddler bed till he's older? Then u can still use the same mattress and sheets etc. While getting him used to being in a bed (and avoiding those nasty corners that lurk on big beds!)

Personally i just went to a few furniture stores and had a look around if you find a place that makes the beds themselves they may be willing to file down any sharp edges for you before staining etc.
I didn't go with the toddler bed as i didn't see the point in spending a couple of hundred now only to upgrade DD in a year, she loves her big girl bed.
The best suggestion i was given was let them sleep on the mattress on the floor first, that way they learn the boundaries of the mattress (size wise) but don't fall far, DD slept on her mattress for a few months and went into her bed with no rails and has only fallen out maybe 3 times.

oh gosh, we just got DD an ensemble. We took the feet of it (so it sat on the floor) until she could climb into it properly. Never even occurred to us to get a suite....we've never had matching furniture for her though anyways.

I wanted a bed so he has a bedhead for his books etc, I wanted it to last his childhood.
My DS is only 15 months so my first option will be just the mattress on the floor for a little while, but wanted to put one on lay-by in the meantime.
My dd had a cot that turned into a junior bed, which was good.
We just bought a bed and I looked for about a month wanting to find something with storage underneath then I found a place called just kids furniture that just opened in our area, they are great!!!! They custom make everything so we ended up with a double bed with storage drawers. They paint the bed any colour you like in non toxic paint and make any changes you like. Not sure what area you are from but if you find a place that custom makes like bev marks you are set although it may cost a little more.
Ps. Just kids have a website if you google them and they do castle bedheads that are a bookshelf!!!
Not sure where you are or if you have access to a superamart. But we got this set from there, no problem with scratchy edges cause its got rolled edges. http://www.superamart.com.au/home/pr...ItemCode=41195 We also got a cubed bookcase from ikea, turned it on the side, and the top is her bookcase, and they sell boxes, now her toy boxes.
