Toddler picking bites - help

DD is almost 2 1/2 and has about 11 mozzie/sand fly bites (not sure which one they are or possibly mixture of both) and i know they were super itchy for her as she told me and i put some Stingose and Calamine on them but she has now scratched the top off each and every one of them leaving them all red and an open sore/bleeding.

Her skin is quite bad at the moment as she suffers from eczema like me so she looks like she has been in the wars.

I've been mosituring her daily and putting betadine on them in the hope to avoid any infection but i'm worried about them scarring as i'm pretty sure they are going to simply as she has 2 scars from the very first bites she got a few months ago.

Any suggestions on how I can help them heal faster?? I had tried previously putting band-aids on them but DD got a rash from the band-aids (another thing she has inherited from me - band-aid allergy) so i'm not sure what else to do and I feel bad for her as it cannot be comfortable. I'd try the option of long pants for a week to let them heal but the heat at the moment makes that a little difficult.

I have found some mozzie patches i'm going to try out with her but that won't help me to treat the ones she has so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This might not help treat them but to stop the itch try dabbing lavender oil on them. This has stopped DD tearing shreds off her bites in the past. It stops the itch straight away. You can use a good quality one undiluted but make sure it's pure because the cheaper ones have nasty chemicals. It does have a certain amount of antiseptic in too so that may help with inflamation. The back of the bottle recommends for sand fly bites. Woolworths has a decently priced one that is good for all purpose use.

I've resorted to an indoor automatic spray thingy - one of the natural plant based ones - to hopefully keep them away so just have to try to get the ones she has healed. Luckily today I was able to dress her in long pants so she couldn't get to them but she didn't appear to be wanting to itch them either. DD has a cold at the moment so she wasn't a happy girl but at least she hasn't attacked her legs. I've kept applying Betadine as it's supposed to dry them up and promote healing but see how it goes. They're quite yucky looking so i doubt they'll heal fast unfortunately.

Anyone know what i can use to try to prevent scarring?

DD does the same thing with her bites.....its like she is possessed and need to pick the scabs off. When they are really bad i have lightly bandaged where they are up with some breathable gauze. Not the best thing lol but its enough that she cant pick them and let them heal.

Fingers crossed you find something that works. The mozzies this year are really bad!
