ideas for left over xmas ham

:) so im thinking i might make a quiche and some pea and ham soup . what will you do with you left over ham ?

I freeze most of mine.
Otherwise we use it for pastas
potato bake with ham added
barbequed on it's own

I dunno, but I tells ya, we'll be eating ham for MONTHS!!
DH was in charge, coz it came from his work, so he ordered... a 10 kilo ham!!

Quishe sounds like a good start :) Might make about 10 of them... but then I need all those eggs & cheese :lol:

toasted sandwiches ... pasta bake ... potatobake ... omlettes ... not sure what else!!

but I think it freezes quite well ... ?

I made a pasta dish with some the other night, we had that for dinner the next night too then I put the rest in the freezer for DD.
I'd just use it like you would use diced bacon/ham. I don't think I bought ham at all this month (until we bought the xmas ham) so am enjoying ham and salad sandwiches/rolls for lunch!

We chopped ours up into smaller portions to freeze and will pull one out when we want it (for pasta, sandwiches, whatever). Last night we had some on homemade pizzas - delicious!

We actually got through a good chunk of the 10kgs coz we had a BBQ the night before, then lunch & dinner on christmas day for 12 adults & 6 kids.

I make carbonara but with ham.

Freeze some for Homemade Hawaiian Pizza.

Egg and Ham Pie.

Oh man it's endless. We'll be doing this too soon as I plan to get a ham when it's on special ;)

Freeze some for Potato Bake.

TBH I'd freeze portions and when I need ham or bacon just pull out some like you would if you were getting bacon out of the freezer.

Freeze the bone for Pea & Ham Soup (make sure you leave some meat on the bone).

Quesadillas or Ham & Egg Breakfast Burritos with Jalapenos.

Breakfast Bread cups with ham, egg and cheese.

Ham & Cheese scrolls/rolls/pull aparts.

Ham & Potato Cakes (from Taste)

Add fried ham to your bolognaise in place of bacon.

Ham & Cheese Cornbread

Ham & Cheese Muffins

We'll be doing this soon as I plan to buy a ham on special ;)
