Vent - stupid reflux!!!!

ahhh, just have to vent. My DD is 15 months and is still on losec for silent reflux. My paed has told me that there are many chn who are on losec till they are 2 years old. I have NOT YET MET ONE!!! and I am jealous of the babies who grow out of it when they are "upright" although I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

I was getting excited as her relux seemed to be under control and we had gone the longest time ever between upping a dosage for worsening symptoms (8 weeks). But of course the bubble has burst and over the last few days the horrid symtoms have been coming back - and today she spewed up milk acid stuff - it was horrible I think I was more upset then she was about it!

We have got an emergency appoint with the paed on Tues arvo after I bawled my eyes out on the phone to the receptionist.

I am just sooooo sick of it. My heart is breaking for DD who is in so much pain. Everytime it gets worse we are back at square one again trying to get a routine going as all sleep and routines go out the window when shes in pain and dealing with it.

I am also sick of people telling me :oh my baby had reflux and I had to put them on the thickened formula - ahh hello if thats what it took to fix your baby then they prob didnt really have reflux in the first place (gastro osop reflux that is!). Every paed and mother of a child with severe reflux will tell you this does little to nothing at all.

Also sick of people telling me I did this routine - you just have to be harder on her - read this book - let her learn to cry it out!!! Which I have tried and after 4-5 hours of screaming she clearly isn't going to go to sleep that way!!!!!

I hate thinking that people think I'm a bad mother that doesn't know what I'm doing because I dont seem to have it all together. They will probably laugh when I tell them Im pregnant again when the time comes!

I don't know why I wrote this or what I expect you to say, I just had to get it out -

Hugs for you, I am only 4 months into dealing with silent reflux and it's hard enough. I know how you feel about people telling you let them cry it out etc they just don't understand that it doesn't work, I hope you get answers soon.
