Src pregnancy shorts?

i've posted this query in the SPD thread and got a few replies, but thought id post in here as well just to get a bigger audience.

Has anyone used these and how did you find them? - given ive got approx 4-8 weeks depending on when this bub decides to makes its arrival, would spending the $189 be beneficial or a waste of money? i have SPD which up until about 2 weeks ago was 'bearable". now that bubs has changed position, i find i am in constant pain in the hip/pelvic/groin/vaginal/perineum area, but especially when sleep time comes. i have a preg support belt which is fine during the day but is way too restrictive to try and sleep with on. My physio suggested the SRC shorts but i wanted some feedback from those who have used them! I have also been suggested to try tubigrip - did you find this helped?

I have been using the shorts since about 16 weeks (currently 26) and found them to be fantastic, I have gone from constant high levels of pain, to none at all.
They are very expensive, but well worth it.
I only wish I had known about them with my first preg.

I wore the SRC pg shorts from about 20 weeks and, as the PP said, I went from constant agony to... well, not pain free but manageable discomfort. The day I bought them I was dragging my left leg around and sitting in the supermarket carpark crying because I couldn't walk in, the pain was so severe. 24 hours later the pain was so much better! Again, I was NOT pain free but I was able to go about my normal daily activities without too much discomfort. The reduction in my pain level was amazing. I highly recommend these shorts and I even bought the Recovery shorts to take to hospital. I have just stopped wearing the recovery shorts and I am sure my pelvis (and my tummy!) has recovered more quickly after this pg than with my previous two. Like the PP, I wish I had had these shorts for my other pg's!

Negrita, what size are you? If you're interested in 2nd hand I can probably sell mine (if they would fit you!)... I THINK we're done having babies! I still have the box, they are tucked up inside it... Let me know if you're interested. :D

Sorry to butt in on your post.... just wondering nickle if you havent sold your src shorts yet and still want to id be really interested in purchasing them. provided they are the right size which im pretty sure is a Medium!

I'm willing to sell mine as well - I have to check the size tomorrow (they are in a clean plastic box in our storage room with other maternity clothes). They would be a larger size.

Hi has anyone heard of the SOLIDEA range? I have posted something on Bub Hub to see if anyone has used them but I thought I would also try here as well. I am looking at the silver wave recovery shorts which are only $115 and Italian made plus scientifically proven to help with back pain, pelvic instability and provides compression to help any separation (to name a couple of things). They look really good. Any thoughts?

Hi HotI, I wore the recovery shorts too. They were great for my pelvis and I loved the way they held my belly in and got rid of that jelly-belly sensation! They say that the pants will help you return to your pre-pg size sooner, to be honest I'm not sure if they did. Certainly when I was wearing them everything was sucked into the right place! I didn't suffer abdominal separation so I can't comment on that, and I had a vaginal birth so can't say how they assist after a CS. I had a fairly minor tear and I certainly felt well supported in my perineum.

The negatives - the pants come right up under your boobs, which is not terribly comfortable! They are supposed to fit firmly, so getting into them is a bit of a pain. I found myself putting off going to the loo because I couldn't be bothered wrestling the pants up and down!

I still own my shorts, but I have leant them to a GF who had a CS four days ago. Not sure how she is going with them but I can ask her if you're interested.

I'm interested in more reviews of these too :)
