Wow, he used the potty for the first time tonight!!!
I have been unofficially toilet training for a little while now, can't remember exactly when age wise but as soon as DS knew what wee, poo and toilet was. He started out super keen..... I got a little carried away and of course scared him off. So we just forgot about it completely and the last couple of weeks haven't even showed him the potty but still talked about it when appropriate. DS would follow me into the loo and watch me empty his nappy and flush Mr Poo away "bye poo" he says.
Anyway tonight DH and I were both in the kitchen preparing dinner when DS comes flying out of the lounge room ripping his pants and nappy off saying "need to wee Mummy.......potty........potty". So i very casually set up his potty didn't make a big deal of it and went back to the kitchen. He fluffed about for a while sat, stood, sat, stood, sat. DH and I trying not to really look or pay much attention not wanting him to feel pressured. Next minute he stands up and says "wee wee wee" rather excitedly.
I feel so relieved, I had been feeling so bad that I had obviously gone overboard before and therefore had that failing Mummy feeling. Not often I feel like I've had a little Mummy success but today I do.
I think if I keep it casual and let him lead... They really just do it when they are ready don't they.
