Just wondering how many of you have taken your kids on cruises?
How old were they?
Were there appropriate activities for their age groups?
Would you recommend doing it?
Any other info you have would be greatly appreciated!

Ooh good questions Jaycee! We are tossing up the idea, we will have similarly aged kids as you :) interested in the answers too.
Have you done any research ezymay? Not sure who the best company to look at going with would be?
Nah we have just been watching the ads lol :)
lol, i just read blessed's thread on cruises and it got me thinking! off to do some research now :)
Hi girls. I can't give any personal feedback on cruising but being an ex travel agent, I do know most cruises dont allow children under one. Something to keep in mind :)
DH and I have travelled a lot but are yet to do a cruise. My inlays have been on a few cruises (the last one was just 2 months ago from Hong Kong to Singapore) and they love it - even though MIL gets sea sick!
I am subbing in on this thread too as we are also interested!:D I was speaking to some extended friends on the weekend who recently came back from a 5 day cruise with their 4 and 6 year old. They loved it. The cruise they went on was out of Singapore on a boat called, I think, "Legends of the Sea" or something similar - it was an american cruise company.
Apparently where the cruise went was places like Phuket for a day and the water was really calm through the Straits of Malacca (sp?). They would recommend it again. They also had 2 cabins with interconnecting doors.
Friends of ours go all the time. They have done the Pacific Islands , two or three times now. And next cruise is to NZ.
They have one son ( now 8) and he always loves kids club!
Just browse one of the websites to see the actual specifics. As Taurean said, Most dont allow people under 1.
I haven't been on any myself but friends who have travelled have indicated that most of the childrens facilities and kids club are for 3yrs and up so generally have recommended waiting until your youngest is 3 to get the utmost out of a cruise but everyone that I know otherwise have loved it and has have their children. Don't know anyone who has gone with children younger than 3 and thus wouldn't be in kids club though and thus whether or not this restricts your movements as an adult ie are there areas children can't go that you'd want to go etc., extent of child friendly activities outside kids club etc.
