Suggestions please :)
Hi.
I have started back at work and DS (nearly 8 months) is in daycare and I would appreciate some suggestions for lunches I can pack for him.
He was exclusively BF until 6 months and only had the occassional small meal before going to daycare. He has now decided he prefers to eat lots of food and not have as much EBM. He still has a big BF when he first wakes up, when we get home from work/daycare and before bed, with some vegies & meat for dinner.
He really likes finger food and doesn't mind mashes (I've been doing a combo of BLS and some mash at home). At the moment I pack for him sticks of rockmelon, honeydew, watermelon, cucumber, nectarine or peach (depending on what is best at the supermarket), yoghurt and either cruskits or rice cakes with avo or cream cheese.
I feel bad coz he has the same thing nearly everyday and I was hoping that you might be able to inspire me with your suggestions for some new lunch ideas.
Thanks heaps :D

would the dc heat food for him?
you could do some puree chicken mixed with mashed potato, pumpkin, broccoli cauliflower? I usually cook some olive oil with garlic and half a small red oinion until onion changes colour then pop the meat in and seal it. Then I add some boiled water and add veggies and cook until tender.
If your little one is not eating chukcs you could just puree the lot, I susually pick out and puree the meat, and hand mash the veggies.
DD likes bits now so I rough mash her food and leave corn and pea bits whole. We also cook pasta and mix it in, yes I use to purree that too.
You can doo any veggies you like but this is what I used on DD before she started chunks.

There is heaps of stuff you can offer.
try here and here
par boiled vege chunks, polenta, pieces of chicken/meat, whole pasta to name a few.
There is also a BLS chatter somewhere with great ideas but I can't find it ATM...

My kids used to love pasta or rice with some pureed veges or pasta sauce mixed through. For a bit of variety maybe give him roasted veges in place of fruit sticks.
