Formula - how do I know if she is sensitive to cow's milk?
Hi all,
I've recently had to switch my 8-week old DD over to full time FF - we came out of hospy comp feeding, then worked our way to exclusive BF, then it all went pear shaped and my supply gradually dried up - I comped her for awhile with both EBM and formula, but it was evident that my bbs weren't delivering the goods.
DD occasionally had a bit of a snuffly nose on BF and comp, but since we have been FF with the same brand the hospital gave us (Nan HA Gold), she frequently has a blocked nose, to the point where it wakes her up (Fess Little Noses drops are now our best friend). DH and I are not lactose intolerant or anything, but if we eat too much dairy we do get a bit more nasal congestion than usual. I didn't avoid dairy while I was BF, and it has definitely been since FF that she has been more snuffly. She doesn't seem constipated at all, so it's not a nutrient issue as I have seen discussed on a couple of threads here. I'm taking her to the community clinic on Tuesday but just thought I'd ask the expert panel here:)
So:
What are other signs of an intolerance to cow's milk?
Could this be a sign of reflux rather than intolerance?
What formulas would you recommend to help with this?
Thanks very much!
