My cats - sneaky little buggers!

So DD and I just got home from mothers group. We'd been gone 2 hours so I took DD straight to bed then hopped on the computer, made a cuppa etc. Just went into our bedroom and realised the throw rug we keep on the bed was missing. We call it the 'cat spew' rug as it is there to protect our doona from car hairballs (it's a $5 Kmart rug!!).
So I looked for it. Not on the floor, not under the bed. Was definitely there earlier today. And the house alarm was still on when I got home, so no burglars (though who is going to steal a throw rug?!).
Anyway I rang DH and asked if he had been home. He said no. I was like, no seriously, you have, haven't you?! But no, he insisted he had not been home.

Then I started looking further around the house and I found it. One, or both, of my sneaky cats had dragged it from the bedroom, through the hallway, over to the rug in front of the couch. And co-incidentally one cat was sprawled, belly up, right infront of the rug. Cheeky little buggers! They have never done something like this before. Certainly had me thinking I was going nuts ha ha ha.

How did they not set alarm off?

Good question feeb - I was wondering that myself. The sensitivity of our alarm is set so that the cats running around the house doesn't set it off. I think it's set to a particular height. So something dragged along the floor wouldn't set it off. I guess that means if a vertically-challenged burglar breaks in they also might not set it off, heh heh heh. Wish I had recorded footage of the event though, would have been quite funny. I am sure it was the female, she loves soft material so she was probably kneading it and got a claw stuck or something then dragged it with her. Or, she did it on purpose - redecorating :)

Cats are great arent they, i've always had one in my life since I was a baby and have so many stories, I could write a book!
Today our cat Pumpkin decided to help himself to his bag of treaties and got about 6 out before I realised and stopped him!

Wow they sound clever- anything to make themselves comfortable lol.

My male cat often drags off my clothes (esp silky nighties/lingerie) to his various hidey holes, we think he's a crossdresser!
