VENT: BF 4.5yo

DS is a bit belligerent about it in the mornings. I ask him to wait until DD has finished and fallen back asleep and I still get his hands insistently pulling at me and me pushing them away. Sometimes he'll cry in rejection...and wake DD.
He doesn't have a teddy, never sucked his thumb, he has only ever reverted to me for comfort. We are going through a massive adjustment right now, so don't want to stop him. I never wanted to stop him.
What I did a little while ago was limit him to the morning. When he's sick I let him have more, and that's not often.
I just want to concentrate on BFing DD now :( Especially now that I got my period back this week and DS BFing is clearly not working to keep my fertility suppressed!
Anyway, I just wanted to vent here, and no-where else.

You're not alone!

I find that the only way I can have a shower and get dressed without little hands trying to help themselves is to give DS (who is nearly 3) a "job" to do while he waits. Something like "you go finish your puzzle and then we will have boo". But I suspect that if he was having to watch someone else feeding then that wouldn't work.

I'm really conscious that I don't want my DS to learn that if he pushes me around physically he will get what he wants - so I really try to only respond to "nice" requests for booboos.

Can you feed DD away from DS - or make a policy that being mean to Mum means that Mum is going to feed DD, clean up the kitchen and then get around to feeding you, whereas if you wait nicely you can have your feed as soon as DD is done? Or is the issue that "when your sister has finished" is a bit uncertain, and involves him giving control up to his sister - if you said instead "when the clock says 9" (or whatever time you know DD will be comfortably finished) that would give him something that he knows will happen and that neither you nor DD are controlling.
