Centrelink Question..

Hello :)

I am finishing up my full time job this week on Friday to help my DH with his business. I am unsure of what sort of role I am going to have with him. My primary role in the business will be bookkeeping & admin so I am thinking of maybe getting an ABN going. But we will be talking to our accountant to work out the best arrangement (partnership might be better..) So I am probably going to need to advise Centrelink of my change of situation hey? We don't claim anything as it is during the year, the only thing that we could get is the daycare payment each quarter.

Another Question.. I used to have the online services where I can update all my details. I I tried getting on the other day, but it says that I don't have access anymore. The last time I logged on was about 4 months ago. I do have a debt with Centrelink that was passed on to a collection agency, do you think that this would be the reason I do not have the online services any more? I've been hoping that I get my quarterly payment for childcare so I can pay off the rest of the debt, but I have a feeling that I wont even be getting that...

I am not sure about most of your questions other than the daycare bit, you should still qualify for the 50% rebate as you are working, even if it is your own business.

you only need to notify if there is a change that will impact entitlement - if you pay full child care fees, and collect ftb at end of financial year, there shouldn't be anything to notify of, but it's probably best to make a quick call and check anyway (but be aware, the queues are huuuuuuuuuuuuge at the moment)

Ok, I got in to my online services finally. It does not say anything about the quarterly rebate, or do you only get the payment come up when the money has actually been deposited? I don't check centrelink too much so not sure how it works...

the quarterly rebate will show up only 2 working days before it is deposited. they started paying them last wednesday and hope to have them all deposited (all things being equal) by tuesday next week

Centrelink has just put up that I am getting my payment on Monday 31st. So I am stoked!! Shame it will go to paying the rest of the debt but atleast I will be clear of that one...

I havent found anything about notifying my change of work. I might just email them because I know how busy they must be right now and don't really feel like waiting on the phone for ages. We don't get payments during the year so I dont need to speak to them that quickly..
