Hey,
My hair is quite long and all I ever seem to do at the moment is tie it back - some days can't be bothered washing it (doesn't need washed every day anyway) and so I just stick it back in a pony tail.
I'd love some ideas on what else to do with it? Other than having it down and straight. I just don't have the time to stand and straighten it.
So, how can I wear it up but still look fabulous and not boring?
Any websites with pictures and instructions that anyone knows of?

I'm so tempted to cut all my hair off at the moment and then I realise that people spend hundreds of dollars to get this length with extensions.
I used to braid my fringe down the side of my head, the either do a side low pony (very sleek and pretty) or a high pony tail...
Pin your fringe back and have a bun? Either tight or messy..
Braid your hair when it's wet and leave it overnight, then take it out in the morning but don't brush it!

I had long hair for our wedding, got sick of it and the day we got back from our honeymoon I chopped it all off and got a full head of foils. That was oct 09... My hair has just grown past my shoulders.... And I mean just barely, it is growing sooooo slowly and I miss my lovely long hair!! I am jealous! Lol.
Oh and even if you do go short, it ends up in a pony anyways, just more annoying cause bits fall out!! Lol
im always getting bored of my long hair too. like you i end up just putting it in a pony tail. i have bought a couple of pretty flower clips and headbands.
that kinda helps to jazz it up a bit.
Great thread....i have long think hair aswell and all i ever do is tie it up too, more because it is just sooooo hot hanging down around my neck.

I used to use chopsticks. You'll need to google for illustrations but basically you just twist it and shove chopsticks through the base. Once you have the hang it takes seconds and looks great. I always needed to redo it every few hours or more if I was active but redoing only takes a jiffy. Then if you need your hair out of your face in the office you can use pens :p

I'm growing my hair out at the moment (shoulder length now) but when it was long I used to jazz up my ponytail by taking a thin section of hair from the ponytail and wrapping it around the elastic and pinning it, so it covers the elastic. Hope that makes sense? Sometimes I tease/back comb my fringe or larger part of the front section and pin it back smooth so it has a bit of boof/height then tie the rest into a low or side ponytail.
Remember Topsy Turveys.... Those plastic things that would flip your hair around lol.....

Great thread, I'm sick of my hair too and all I have EVER done is put it up in a pony or a messy bun. When I was in like primary school I went all out and loved my plain white plastic head band :rofl: But seriously I need to do something! About 18 months ago I did buy some funky head bands which are really pretty but I thought they were giving me a headache so stopped wearing them. I have tried to do a thin plat on the side or 2 pigtail plats but they just seem to fall out, my hair is really thick but doesn't hold that sort of thing :confused: I've thought about getting some pretty clips to pop in the sides to hold my fringe back like some flowers or other pretty things but haven't actually purchased any yet... Think I will though now that I've been re inspired :) OH the other thing I've also thought about is hair mascara. I am not going to put foils in again due to them wrecking my hair but thought that might be a good idea to sproose things up?
