When did you first see a heartbeat?

So as the title says, if you had an early scan (dating etc), did you see the heartbeat? If not, did you have to go back?

Im having mine at 4pm today and Im anywhere from 5wks 5 days to 6wks 1day.

Hi, I think I was about 5+3 or 4 and there was a HB, it was a little low (maybe 111 or112) and the tech said that she thought it had only just started beating (like in the last 24 hrs)
That was also an internal scan, the external showed nothing.

About 6 weeks, nearly 7 weeks.

I was 6+2 weeks & it was an internal, That was for DD2

At my first scan I was supposed to be 6 weeks exactly but the sonographer said it looked like I was only 4.5/5 weeks (could see a sac and yolk sac, that's it). I went back in two weeks and measured 8 weeks (my original dates!) so I don't know how that worked!

7wks and an internal, external showed nothing :hug:

My SIL had one at 5-6wks (I think) and they couldn't find anything, had to go back in a week and they picked it up, she's due in April.

I had my first at 7 weeks, and an internal showed the heartbeat.

6 weeks i was told. i tried to make an appointment the day i found out, but was told dating ones can only be done at 6+ weeks as thats when they can pick up the heartbeat:dunno: guess it all depends on were you go. that was just the regular outside (external?) scan.

I had one at 4.5weeks and 5.5weeks and there was no difference between the two except the sonographer said she might have saw the glimpse of a yolk sac at the 5.5week one. My Ob then did one at 6weeks exactly and he could see the HB and fetal pole and printed me a picture of although it really didn't show anything except the gestational sac. Bub was so tiny I couldn't see the HB although my Ob assured me it was there.

The earliest I have seen the heartbeat was 6w6d.
I was always told to make the first appointment around 7 weeks as they can't guarantee anything before that.

We saw the heartbeat at our dating scan at 6w5d, it was an internal scan.

I had my first early scan at 6 weeks something and there was no HB - so I had to go back at 8 weeks and there was the HB.

Dont be to concerned if they cant see the HB - you will just have to wait a week or 2 and go again. xox

Had one scan at 5w3d, no heartbeat, then 6w3d and we saw the heartbeat :)

Mine was 6w3d and it wasn't internal :) good luck hun

I have always had my scans around 7.5wks/8wks gestation so I guess that's not real early....and yep obviously at that stage a HB is easily detected.

thanks everyone. I just dont want to be freaked out if they dont see a HB just yet. I am having an internal one.
