What's a super comfy glider rocking chair?

Night feeds with my first son were a backbreaking nightmare, so I am going to "spoil" myself and buy a glider this time.

Can anyone recommend their glider as the most comfortable, dream-like feeding chair ever to be created, perfect in every capacity? Good looking, too.

Expense isn't a problem because I'll be keeping an eye out on ebay or for sales over the next few months, so I don't care what the price tag said.

Or, what should I look out for? Any tips or what to avoid greatly appreciated.

K, we have a great rocker/glider, I'm sure it's a valco but I can check for more info when I get home from work tomorrow. The chair is in DS's room & he's fast asleep now :)

We've got a leather Babyhood glider (with the matching rocking footstool) and it's awesome!! I have spent so much time in this chair (yes, I'm in it right now!) since we got it a few months before DD was born. My parents bought it for us and I think it was about $400. It's worth every penny and more though!

My only issue is DD stopped BF just shy of her first birthday so now I don't really have a legitimate reason to boot family or friends out of it! :rofl: it's the most popular chair in the house and we have a damn nice leather lounge, lol

Valco Zen Glider with matching gliding foot stool. Awesome!

We got a swallow glider and footstool from Ebay (originally from babyco), they come up quite cheaply, and we ended up buying a second one for DD's room as we still use the one in DS's room for book and milk before nap and bed at night.
The one for our DD's room was only $90 I think

I tried the babyhood sovereign and Manhattan gliders in store and think they are lovely, smooth gliding, soft as a cloud. High backs with soft pillows.

But I tried the valco Zen and I'm only 5'4", but the pillow on the back rest was uncomfortably low so it was almost shoulder height in an upright position, also it clicked when it glided. I was disappointed.

I also tried a couple of euro brand gliders in store and hated them.

So far I think I would only buy the babyhood ones.

Anyone else have an experience trying then all out?

What I like to do is get really obsessed with 1 thing and then not sleep until I sort it out. Enter La Breastfeeding Chair. I've looked and looked and to be perfectly honest I just think gliders are not very attractive and I don't like faux leather, it never ages well. A filthy-rich friend recommended a Harbourtown LaZboy recliner/rocker but they cost over $1000 so that's out of the question (and I just don't see any 2nd hand).

I heard good things about the Poang chair from Ikea, which is supposed to be very supportive and also comes in a rocker. So I had a look at the site and I also saw the Hejka rattan rocking chair which would need a cushion added.

So what "features" make or break a breastfeeding chair? I think good back support and low arm rests, anything else?

We have ordered the Diva babyhood glider, I can't wait to get it!! It's on backorder at the moment as they seem popular in the colour we wanted. It's very comfy and perfect for my height! I never had a feeding chair with DD so I'm excited!!

features that make or break a chair? Waterproof! But that's because my little munckin has reflux so we get LOTS of spits/urps/spews etc. I have something basically looks like the Valco Zen or Seville Glider (can't remember if that's the actual brand or not).

I've found it really comfy but the lower back support isn't great. I actually put a cushion on it, then used the elastic straps from my CTG to secure the cushion in place as a lumbar support... BUT second time around also found I've used a 2-seater sofa much more, complete with 3 million cushions, a "brest friend" breastfeeding pillow & foot stool. Reason being, 2yo was quite keen to sit/cuddle/watch generally be in on the action in the early days, so you can still give them a cuddle, read a book with them while they perch next to you on a sofa, definitely more inclusive. Plus in the early days BF'ing seems to take forever anyway, so keeping a 2yo happy is always an interesting challenge to keep in the mix. I'd also recommend the BF'ing pillow highly - I didn't use one first time, but have loved it this time.

Update: i changed my mind completely and bought an Ikea poang chair. I'm absolutely loving it, it seems designed before BFing. Low arm rests, great back support, bouncy frame and with my Ikea family discount it was so cheap.

I love that it's small, light and easy to move even, and looks really groovy.

It saved my back from painful spasms when i got home from hospital
