I'm considering looking into changing my pram & going for either a side by side or an inline pram. I have the Valco RebelQ that takes a toddler seat(partly why i brought it) but i'm thinking DD will get better protection in an actual seat over the toddler seat.
At the moment i'm looking at the BJCM double
& the P&T's Hammerhead
Anyone got either of these prams?
I love love love my P&T Dash! we got the 2nd seat thinking that we'd have another bub pretty close after DS so would need a 2nd seat. And we have used it heaps already. We bought the lazy ted attachment which turns it into a little bouncy seat and we have it in our lounge room as a seat for him. I also put it in the pram when I take DS shopping. He would never lye down in a baby capsual on a shopping trolley as he liked to sit upright and he can't sit up by himself enough to be in the big baby way so I attach the seat to the front and pull down the main seat (like you'd have it if a newborn was in there) and then I put my shopping in that part so it's like my own little shopping trolley and we are all happy! Then if I want to put in other things which might be a bit bigger I put the seat on the seat on the back like you would 2 older kids and Bob's your uncle I have loads more space to put crap. I think it'll also be great in times when I have 2 kids and I don't know if the older child will want to get in the pram or not. You can put the 2nd seat on the front of the pram and keep the main seat upright (where you'd put a newborn) and it just looks like a regular pram. The only thing I don't like about he dash is the 2nd seat doesn't have a shade cover but it looks like the hammerhead does so it'd totally go for that one :) I was hoping that by the time we have a 2nd child to go in the seat that we can buy a shade cover or that P&T would have made one for it, I'm sure we'll come up with something though!
We also got the cocoon and it's was fab! we took it everywhere and then DS had somewhere to sleep. We also had him sleeping in it during the day in the lounge room etc. and if you have a baby that wants to face you then you can put bub in that and then into the pram so bub can see your face. It also doubles up as a bassinet and you can let bub sleep in it and you can wheel them around in the pram while they fall asleep in the cocoon ;)
Thanks Cherished. I've heard good things about P&T's but haven't looked at them before as i prefer the 4 wheeled prams. My DD will be 27 months when this bubs arrives so will still need the pram for a bit longer. I'm thinking too looking at the wheel set up the maybe the P&T's will be a better all rounder pram. Far out, i thought i was all set & wouldn't need to worry about a pram this time around!!!!!!
ok so im a pram aholic and ive had 18 in 22 months, im gonna say BJCMD they BJ's are amazing quality, sturdy, fantastic to push so easy to clean so extremly child friendly!
Ive had a P&T sport double and found them small & poorly made, they seem to catch easily in the material and frey quickly.

blueiris I also forgot to mention that the P&T dash is narrower than most other prams, not sure about the hammerhead dimensions. I found it's perfect to fit through all the doors in our house, any wider and I wouldn't be able to do that occasional laps to get DS off to sleep. I probably only do that every few weeks but boy when it's been raining outside and we haven't gone for an afternoon walk and DS is finding it hard to go to sleep it's been a lifesaver. It also makes it easier to get in and out or shops and just to navigate around stuff when out and about. I imagine it'd be all pretty hard with a side by side pram?
Ive just put on layby BJ City Select. I highly recommend it over any other double pram. Very sturdy, 4 wheels and a 40kg weight limit!
I have found P&T to be narrow in the seating and personally dont feel safe having a 3 wheeler with 2 kids in it. JMO.
i also found the side by side prams have tiny seats too

LOL it all started when i wasnt happy with my 1st pram it was too bulky so I sold it and got another, then that one was crap too so i got another then I was like hey this is fun and kept going lol Ive stopped at the Bugaboo Cameleon but thats lead to a whole new obsession..Bugaboo TOPPINGS lol!!!
I have a strider plus that I love. Its an inline pram, similar to the P&T's, but there were a few features that I prefered. Both seats recline fully and have their own sun canopy, the top seat can reverse, its still really stable if DD gets out of the top seat and DS is still in the bottom seat (unlike the p&t which gets tippy imo). Seats are a good size - DD is a tall 2.5 yo and still fits in either seat. It is a little wide, but there has only been one check out that I have struggled with.
I have a strider plus too. Sammy gave you some of the features. I LOVE it. I find it great for walking and the kids love going in it. I was looking at the p&t but didn't like that both seats didn't fully recline and the tipping issue. I read 100s of reviews and threads on both prams before deciding. I also pulled women up in the shopping centre to ask about their pram, they were all very friendly lol. I am very happy with my choice :). Good luck choosing one. Its amazing what a big decision it is.
just a litte hijacker here... can someone with the Baby Jogger double pram tell me what the wheels are like ie i need a double pram but want to be able to use it off-road ie walking tracks etc.

Grub i have the baby jogger city select, it is a fantastic pram but i wouldnt recomend it for off road. I walked across the school oval the other day and it was really really bumpy.
I have the BJ City Elite which is a three wheeler which has a jump seat (attaches to the front) for a toddler and it's a brilliant off road and exercising pram. The City Mini has more 'stroller' type wheels IYKWIM so I don't think it would be much good for off road but fine for footpaths.:
Blueiris - keep in mind that your DD probably won't be that keen on the pram in the not too distant future so you may end up pushing one child in a double pram (ie one seat will be empty!) so maybe something with a detachable toddler seat might be a better option. The BJ City Select is a good one if you want a four wheeler. Bugaboo are releasing their new side-by-side, the Donkey, overseas now (I think) and it easily converts to a single stroller or a double. I don't think it's due for release in Aus though until the end of the year s you'd have to order from the net if you were keen.
