I'm sooo tired
Last night was DH's first night shift back since our miscarriage, I just knew something was going to happen :wall:
I was about to go to bed at 11pm and Moo woke up screaming. I gave him pain relief in case it was teeth, tried to pat him back off to sleep, gave him drinks, tried to cuddle him and read him stories but everything I did just made him cry harder! Because he was so tired he was clumsy, so kept tripping over which made him cry even harder!
I didn't know what to do, I just wanted to go to bed but he doesn't like co sleeping, just thinks it's all a game. In the end he was trying to open the fridge so I gave him some grapes...he ate the whole little bowl full! Then he wanted more, then he wanted toast and on it went. So I don't know if he was that hungry or not but at least the crying had stopped.
Everytime I mentioned bed or carried him back to his room he'd start screaming and crying. Eventually I tried again about 1am and he did fall asleep after screaming for 10 minutes.
By the time I fell asleep it was at least 2am  And then at 5am he started up again! I didn't get him up as I didn't want him starting the day so early, I was shattered from hardly any sleep. Once again I tried patting, cuddles etc in the cot, more pain relief...he eventually fell asleep at nearly 6am.
I'm on my own again tonight and I'm hoping we don't have a repeat  I'm exhausted!

Thanks for the hugs girls, certainly was a crazy night! Just needed to tell someone
It's funny how you get into the rhythm of night wake ups when they're little babies, but get a few months of uninterrupted sleep and you can't handle it!
-
So true! I reckon it's the hormones that get you through in the early days... Without them we're left as walking zombies!
-
Hopefully he'll be so tired tonight and sleep through for you.
Regards,
Dianne

Those random nights are horrible! The only upside is I generally find the following night is MUCH better and everyone gets to catchup on some sleep. I hope that happens for you tonight hon
