TT when rewards don't work.

Hi All

DS is nearing 3 (in May) and I have bub#2 due in 3 months.

We started TT 3 months ago as he seemed to be showing readiness. The first week he was great - lots of wee in the toilet but no poos (though we expected this). After that week he just went off the whole idea, flat out refusing to go near the toilet. He chose the toilet - we have a potty but he doesn't like it and also doesn't like the little seat that sits in the big toilet seat.

We thought it best to leave it a few weeks and try again. We've been trying with limited success for the last couple of months. Rewards are always short lived successes - like after 2 days of rewards he doesn't care any more so they no longer are an incentive.

So at the moment DS will occasionally do wee on the toilet if asked - he knows how to pull pants off/on, close lid, flush, wash hands independently but he's just not doing anything consistently.

I'd so love to have him at least day time TT by the time the new baby arrives but at the same time we don't want to put unnecessary pressure on him or ourselves to have it all sorted in 3 months.

Any ideas appreciated :D
