My DS is nearly 3, and usually has a morning and evening feed, which may be a few seconds or many minutes, depending on his mood. Lately he complains that boobs are empty, and starts trying to squeeze out more milk.
I'm not pregnant, and I don't want to feed him more often - this pattern seems to be working OK. But it would be better if there were more available at these two feeds.
Does there come a time when supply does actually reduce, even when bub would have more??
Supply and demand is working! He is not demanding more - so they are shutting up shop - the demand is only a few seconds or minutes each day - so that's what you are producing. If he feeds more it's likely you will make more - but it doesn't seem like either of you really want that. You've fed long and well - really well, and weaning is happening, naturally
He's demanding more verbally and so on though - should I just suggest that if he wants more milk he needs to keep trying?? I usually ask if he wants milk-in-a-cup instead (and most often get a no).
