I was just wondering if anyone else has a baby and/or toddler with promient blue veins on the forehead that stand out?! my son also has one across his nose and it looks like a bruise. The forehead ones have faded heaps but not the nose one, he has been to a specialist and we were told that nothing was wrong (thankfully).
Ever since he was born complete strangers feel the need to ask me if he's drawn on himself :rolleyes:
Yes! Milo has this, it is very prominent and people always ask me if its a bruise.
My nephew has one across the bridge of nose and has had since he was born. He is now 5. It has slowly faded. I guess as he gets bigger the effected area is smaller. SIL was told the same thing, that it was fine. Liam was born with it also but not as dark and he also has a vein on the side of his head which is noticable which runs up in front of his ear.
Gus has a few on his head and one on the side of his face. So far they haven't faded at all. :(
Kaitlyn has one on her left eye lid ...it bulges when she gets upset!. I used to worry about it but I dont even notice it anymore thankfully. I think they will all fade as they get older.

Ha! I'm 31 and I still have a fairly prominent blue vein on my jawline and still get asked occasionally if I know I've got blue pen mark on my face! Have had it since I was tiny and often got told I'd accidentally drawn on myself all through school (all quite well-meaning comments, not teasing). I've gotten used to it and don't even really notice it anymore. I was told this is just because my veins are a bit closer to the surface of my skin...hmm, not sure how this works. Not so noticeable in summer when I get a bit of colour on my skin (I have very pale skin).
Thanks everyone for your replies, I appreciate it as nobody I know or have yet met have a child that has this. I have pale skin too julesr and a tan makes it less noticeable for sure.
I noticed that Arden's forehead one really stands out more when he cries or gets angry.
my ds had these on his forehead very prominent, he has a high hairline (i think he will go bald early) and he is very very fair with almost white hair so they used to look very prominent - he is 6 now and you can't notice them as much - but yes i always had comments about them to.

That's really interesting (the Italian wives tale) as I had a palm reading and was told I'd have a boy than a girl. I guess time will tell! she's 50% spot on so far :)
Well....after me came my sister! And we're half Italian...does that add any credibility to the old Italian wives tale??
Seth has one too, and its actually a dip in the bone too where the vein passes, we get the same thing people asking if its a bruise.

I must admit that I wouldnt mind having a girl, although with my history just another child would be a dream come true ;)

My sister has one of these veins too. She's almost 19 (:eek: ) and it gets worse when she gets upset. But most of the time people don't notice it. When I was little I used to tell her it was her brain leaking.......
Jordan has a blue vein over his nose....DH had one when he was a baby also.
