Cost of IUI through public clinics eg RPA

Hi all,

My DH and I are going to RPA Fertility Clinic next month to explore IUI (after 6 failed rounds of Clomid through a private FS) and I was just wondering how much people who have been through similar clinics were actually out of pocket?

i think with public there is no out of pocket. i could be wrong but the one hosp in bris that does it covers everything.
i know there is a long wait list up here too.

I went through Westmead Fertility Clinic which is attached to Westmead Hospital. I did 3 rounds of IUI and can't remember exact figures but it was about $700 a go then Medicare refunded a proportion until we made the safety net. After 2 attempts, because the medicare threshold was about $1100, 80% was being refunded through medicare. The $700 covered everything. Might be worth checking out as an option.. they're website has a fair bit of info on it and the ladies down there are really helpful if you need to give them a call.

Im pretty sure RPA would be similar in price to Westmead, its a public clinic as well. We have our first appointment in early March so I guess we will see how we go! I just want to be a Mummy again so bad!!!!!
