DD2 has always had issues doing a poo
She has weetbix for breakfast
vegies and fruit for lunch
what ever we are having and fruit puree for dinner
snacks on fruit during the day
she drinks heaps of water and is on cows milk
The other night whilst trying for a poo DD1 said "look mummy Milly is purple"
its heart breaking watching her go and its like it every day
I took her to the doctors and he simply said give her coloxil everyday...this just doesnt seem right??
It's awful, isn't it :hug: My DD has had poo issues for over a few months now. I'll paste a link to my more recent thread in here in a moment.
With our DD, she had bought of constipation about 3-4 months ago now and was pooing hard tennis ball like poos. It was awful! I had to help her get them out and I also tried suppositories :o - it was awful for both of us. We saw the pharmacist at our hospital and he suggested Parachoc - it's a stool softener which also relaxes the bowel. It worked within 24 hours and, as instructed, we continued giving it to her for a week but then she ended up constipated again :wall:
I took her to our doctor in Dec as I was sick of it coming and going. It was distressing for both if us but especially DD. I couldn't understand why it was happening as she's always had a healthy diet and lots of water. The doctor explained that she had become scared to poo so she was holding them in! It wasn't her diet, it was her fear! So she's now on a daily dose of Parachoc (and it must daily or she'll very likely end up back at square one!) for another month and or so, until pooing just isn't an issue. She is finally a lot better but she still has a few 'holding it in' moments so we really need to get past them before we can wean her off the Parachoc.
So it could be worth going to your doctor if she doesn't improve. I wish I'd done that sooner
