after monkey was born i was offered a pill to stop my milk coming in, which i gladly took as i didnt think i could go home and face engorgement ect.
but through the day i randomly will get let down pains and leaking, and each time its like a big kick in the guts.
i know its probably due to hormones and things like that but is there anything i can do or take to make it stop??
my breasts arent at the point of engorgement or anything like that but they arent all soft and non breastfeeding squishy
I wish I knew the answer, it must be so hard :hug:. Do you have a local health food store? They might be able to suggest something natural that could help?
I also went on a pill to speed up the milk drying up process about 6 weeks after DD. I still remember about 2 weeks after taking it, I was getting undressed for the shower and I squirted across the room. So for me, it took about a month to stop doing the random let down thing all together. :hug: :hug: :hug:
The ABA have some helpful resources on suppressing lactation. Their number is 1800 MUM 2 MUM (1800 686 2 686) or if you want to PM me I can find the details of a local counsellor for you :hug:
I took it after the twins died and the same thing happened.. I remember the day of their funeral, I was pouring with milk.. Sucked, as I had worked so hard to keep supply while they were in NICU but now I just wanted it gone. It was just torturous (sp?):

I take this pill regularly for a different issue, but it takes me at least a week to dry up each time.

I think from memory if you kinda push your boobs into your chest when the let down happens it *can* assist in stopping and I guess stop let downs slowly. Its something I read a loooong time ago now. But the ABA should be a good help :comfort: xxxx:
A friend uses some drops a friend uses for over supply, they were recommended by a LC, triple distilled sage, she gets them from Marni's herbs in Adelaide. Not sure what to do for weaning but for subtle reduction it is 3 drops 4 times a day in a glass of water, and increasing every day until it settles then holding for 5 days then doing the same in reverse. You can use sage tea bags but the drops are alot more precise.
Apparently peppermint is good too.

You could also try cabbage leaves
I was just about to suggeste cabbage leaves. When my sister lost her DD1 at 20 weeks she used cabbages leaves. She is weaning at the moment with DD2 and is using them. I know women who swear by them.
