POO! (Actually, lack of)
DS started on mush a couple of months ago, just once a day, he's only 6 months old, so I wasn't too stressed about him eating a lot of food. We've recently amped it up (not all at once) to 3 times a day and I think it might be taking his body a bit of time to adjust. His poos are nuggety and there's really not that much of it... usually they're a few a day and still BM poos (if that makes sense).
Is this pretty normal when adjusting to more food?
-
Completely normal. He also has to learn how to do solider pooh!
Make sure he has lots of water/BM as well as his food.

Emma went through a stage or two like that - I just made sure she had pears at least once a day (I just used the tinned Heinz pears), and went through a process of elimination (hehe, pun intended) to work out which foods were particularly bad for "blocking" her up. I found banana to be the main culprit. If she was still having trouble I either changed 2 meals on one day to pears, or dropped off one solids meal and amped up the fluids until she returned to "normal". :)
Does he seem to be uncomfortable?
-
he doesn't seem too uncomfortable, at least he's not whingey (not that he ever is!). I'm making sure he's getting pears every day.... and his lunch and dinner were pumpkin based with a few other veggies, but it was mostly pumpkin.
I'm going to drop his lunch tomorrow and see what happens- thanks xxxx

poor little man is not happy today- he just got woken up from his morning sleep because he was passing a big nugget and i think it scared him. Is going a day with only BM okay you think?
-
Oh no! :( That's not fun!
Yes, i definitely think a day with only BM would be fine! Sorry, I just saw this now! Hope he's feeling better now. xoxo

Hun, nuggets are a sign that he needs some more fluid or is reacting to the food. I think bm only for a week or so is a great idea. Then when you re-introduce the solids, start slowly. I'm a big fan of baby led solids as giving the baby control really eliminates a lot of the problems with spoon feeding. If you are interested in knowing more about it, there is a a chatter thread here - https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...er-5-a-148037/ and some other interesting threads in that sub-forum. You can also get some great information by googling.
Also, solids replace milk so try to keep offering the breast often and many mums find that this is a good time to start offering some water in a cup as well.

Thanks MantaRay
He's been on BM only today, poor poppet. Tomorrow as well, if he's still the same, now is the time I'd welcome a poonami! I really thought I'd been going slowly enough, and he's having only fruit and veggies, stewed at home, and have been offering milk just as often. I think maybe there's been TOO MUCH food, you're right.
I've been interested in the BLS and reading for a couple of months, still don't know where I am on it, but appreciate the links, Thanks.

Well I don't say this often LOL, but I hope you have a poo-nami today hun
