Refusing the bottle, what do I do?

Hi ladies,
As some of you might know I didn't have a great supply and I was having to give my dd top ups morn & night. My supply gradually increased & bub was only having the night top up. She has slowly been refusing the bottle and prefers to have Booby almost hrly, it could be a growth spurt or because she won't take the bottle. Now If I try to give her a bottle she will scream and splutter and refuses it regardless of whether it's EBM or formula or how hungry she is. Give her booby & she goes straight on. She woke 2hrly for feeds last night & usually sleeps 5 again this is not a worry really If she's getting enough to eat. My issue is that if I'm at work or not home for some reason she needs to be able to take the bottle. How do I get her to take the bottle again?

Have you tried getting DH to give it to her instead? My mum even told me to leave the house as DD wouldn't take a bottle if I was anywhere around. We didn't need to go that far but I did leave the room.

I would advise you to wait a week or two, and then get your partner to try again when you are not around. Your baby is probably just needing to be close to you right now, so don't stress and I'm sure you will be able to try a bottle again in a while.

Maybe make sure you're out of the room, and ask someone else to try.
She may be refusing the bottle from you, simply because your boobies are right there and thats what she prefers :D

I was actually at work tonight & she was asleep when DH came home to take over, woke up & wanted a feed but she wouldn't take it :( luckily I wasn't gone long. I'll giver her a week and try again like you said traveller. It worries me because sometimes I won't be there. I've got a wedding coming up and I'm in the bridal party so she really does need to take the bottle, cheeky little chicken!

You couldtry a cup or spoon if you really need bub to take milk and you are not there.
