I was told that 3yo 'attitude' was worse than 2yo. Check.
Then that 4yo was the age of 'why?'
WOW, it didn't take her long. She wants to know what everything means (how the heck do you explain what I know means?!?!? LOL!), she wants to know how things work and she wants to know what exactly things are.
Just then: "Mum, what's water made from?" PMSL! I replied, "hydrogen and oxygen".

lmao. I had my 6yr old come in to me while I was in the community centre at the school the other day and he asked me a question and I answered him. He said "wow mum you know alot" later that night at home we're sitting at the table and he says "Well mum tell me what else you know" ummm where do you start with that LOL.
ROFL - Miss Z's fav is why does the earth spin? Then followed with a berzillion other questions - geeze............
Astrolady - I love that he thinks your so knowledgable, I am just getting a look of distrust, lol!
:rofl: I remember when my brothers went through that stage! And being the nerdy big sister whose nose was always in a book, I copped a great deal of the questions instead :p

DD1 has headed head long into "why"...but we still are in the midst of 3yo attitude... :wall:

Oh that's the same here! Except, "why, mum?" followed by answer is always followed by "Why?" again... and again, and again. Same question about the same thing. It's like he's not listening to my hard-thought answer!:

I stumped her the other day... after 4 "why?"'s in a row, I came back with "why not?"... That made her go quiet for about 20 seconds, then she got quite stroppy with me for "not answering properly!" lol

one of my fave answers (not for DS yet ... he's a little young!) is "because God thought that would be AWESOME!"
I also love the "how stuff works" website ...
After the 100th (well thats what it seems like) "Why" from my 3yo it ends with "because Mummy said so" lol How can one simple question have so many "Whys?" I then get the stroppy attitude as I didn't answer properly!
It's all fun and you have to smile lol and hope they go to the next family member/ friend and ask them next time!

I've got a mate IRL who does the 'why not?' response when it all gets too much. Apparently it works quite well when you've had enough for one day ;)
DS did that.. he would ask something, I'd answer, then he'd start his next question with " But why.." AH! I ended up asking him what he thought, the answers were hilarious! Then he started with, "That's not an answer!"
I also introduced him to Google. So by the time he was 4 and a half he'd suggest looking up stuff on the internet. And now, since he's 5, he apparently knows everything and if I try to explain something I'm just wrong. I don't know which frustrates me more. At least with all the questions he seemed to think I had all the answers, now it almost feels like he's looking at me with pity because I now know nothing. Haha.
