Mummy co-op Adelaide (NE suburbs)
I posted in the SA section, but thought it might get more response here.
Okay, so I'm reading Pinky's Toddler Tactics and came across an interesting suggestion for sharing the load.
:
It can be hard to find space for yourself with a toddler underfoot. It can also be tedious trying to amuse a single child and get tasks done. So why not relieve the stress of isolation and the frustration by sharing children and your workload with another mum or two? Take turns going to each other's homes and having a 'cook-up', a clean-up or a working bee in the garden. With luck and good planning (you can designate one mum to watch the kids while two tackle the tasks), the children will amuse each other for short bursts while you get some work done.
WDYT? Would anyone be interested in actually doing something like this? (I'm in the North-Eastern suburbs). For me, it would have the added benefit of developing a bit of a "mummy network" as I don't have any IRL friends with children who live close by.
ETA - I propose that the initial meetings be primarily to get to know one another. Work can come later. Let's face it, it's waited this long, what's a few more weeks or months? :D
