Talk to me about micro dermal's...

I'm itching to get a new piercing and these look fun.

So anyone got any? How did they heal? Hit me with it alllllll!

I have 10 and 4 more planned.

They are NOT a light-hearted option. They are not permanent, but are painful and difficult to get out (never let anyone cut them out...anyone who says they *must* be cut out is lying...run away fast)...so think of them as a very long term option.

Consider placement carefully. It is possible for them to get caught on things. I never have...nearly have lol...but not yet.

I've had mine for 3 years with no problems at all.

Healing - you will be a tad bruised and tender but it'll pass quickly. The important thing is to not touch them or play with them . Ever.

Make sure you go to a very, very well trained *senior* piercer to get them done. Ther are a LOT of butchers out there who say they 'specialse' in them...when really they've done a few hours training.

They are a type of piercing that is easily messed up by poor measurements, poor placement and putting in the wrong spot/too deep/too shallow. So go to someone good. Ask to see photos of their work first. Healed dermals shouldn't be red, weeping or too deep in the skin. Also, in photos and real life, you shouldnt be able to see the plate under the skin.

Sorry for the babble. I am passionate about piercings....and about people respecting their bodies by getting them done right.

So what is it? A piercing in the skin? Is that like when you see a one sided piercing like on someones chest or something?

I have a few placements in mind but I worry about catching them, hmmmm

MrsBexie they are basically a single point piercing, a little plate sits under the skin with a ball/whatever on the surface. Means you can go places you can't with normal piercings.
