Is this normal if you stop pill mid cycle?

As I am taking the pill to assist for period pain, we have got a bit lazy with other contraception methods..

This last fortnight, I had missed 2 in a week, about 3 days apart, then got sick (runs and vomiting), and decided not to take it after the 3 days that I missed cause I was sick. We dtd before I got sick and I was a day short of 2 weeks in the packet..

But now I have period pains yesterday and today and bleeding today. Not as much bleeding as a normal period, but more than spotting..

Is this normal if you stop taking the pill half way through?

Was normal for me...
Did you use other contraception? The effectiveness of the pill as contraception would be affected as well because you weren't taking it consistently
