stye
not sure if the spellings right but i think i have a stye in my eye :( right next to my tear duct in my left eye is a lump which over the weekend has become quite irritating and a little inflamed.
I am off to the doctors this morning but I'm a sook with drs i dont like them coming near me with sharp or pointy object lol, what do they usually do for styes and is there a way to prevent them coming back?
-
rub silver on it! It really works, I've had them a few times and rubbing silver on it made them go away.
-
I use a used (warm) tea bag on mine
-
You can get a prescription cream from your doctor called chlorig. Other than that the warm teabag or a cotton pad soaked in warm salted water.
Good luck!!
-
does the chlorig contain chlorine at all (allergies!) a warm cotton ball sounds quite nice atm
-
I was going to say a warm compress on the eye usually draws the gunk out
-
Chlorig is a topical antibiotic. Not sure about chlorine...
Maybe you need to stop watching Play School ;)

lol well that is enough to cause damage to my eyes isnt it!

I had something similar pop up on my eyelid in the same spot when I was preggers with #2 - it has continued to grow and go darker every time I'm pregnant. I went to the optometrist who did a bulk billed appointment and looked at it - my GP thought it was a stye. But the optometrist said it was a little group of trapped blood vessels that will just continue to get bigger slowly if not treated, and I have to go see a specialist and get it operated on :( He said if it gets perforated it will just bleed and bleed and I'll have to go to emergency cause it won't stop. So I'm waiting till this bub is out - really don't want any more poking or prodding (or cutting!) than necessary at the moment!
