Just found DS sitting on the bench holding the bottle to his mouth :( apart from feeling a massive attack of mummy guilt what do I do? I have no idea how much he drank, he def had some in his mouth.
To young to spit and rinse, is it just a wait and see? This boy seriously is making me age so quickly.

There should be some instructions on the side of the bottle, saying what you should do. I think lots of water is what I remember from when DD did it a couple of months ago. I know she'd taken some because she had a bubble on her lip :lol:
If you're really worried, give nurse on call or your gp a call for some advice :hug:
And yep, I had the mummy guilts too. They just get so quick!!!!
This is what the poision info website says
1.Give the person who has swallowed the poison a sip of water.
2.If safe to do so, take the poison container to the telephone. Alternatively, if the poison container is contaminated, note down the product name and any ingredients listed. Take this note with you to the telephone.
3.Call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26.
4.Do not try to make them vomit. Do not use Ipecac Syrup unless recommended by the Poisons Information Centre or your doctor.
Oh no, that must have been horrible to come in and see that! Look on the bottle, it'll usually say what to do if it's ingested. If not, call your gp/hospital. It might actually say to call the poisons hotline, depending on what the ingredients are - they might be able to help you anyway, even if it doesn't say that.
I did this when I was about 4, and vomited immediately. Mum called the gp but I was fine. Hope your little guy's ok :hug:

Ooh good point. Even worse if it was bubble bath or something... I guess they give the broadbrush advice to prevent anything burning the throat etc but yes could in some cases complicate things.:
thanks ladies, so just for the record, wipe his mouth out with a wet cloth, milk is a good thing to give (just a small amount) and to watch for vomiting and bubbles coming out of his nose (I kid you not lol), she said obviously if he seems to be having a reaction to take him to hospital. But he hasnt even been sick yet so maybe I caught him just in time.
I was changing DD nappy and normally hear him move the breakfast bench chairs :( we have locks on the cupboards so guess will have to make sure we put the liquid away now.

Depends on the one it is. The one I used said to use plenty of water, to try and dilute the detergent.:
Far out, bubbles out his nose? That would be alarming anyway! Glad he seems ok, surely he wouldn't have had much cos it can't taste great?:
This reminds me of when my brother was little, probably under 2. We were at my nanas and the toybox was in the kitchen, and my brother was up there and my dad went to grab him because we were going home and he was drinking from the windex bottle.
He had no side effects, dad just rang poisons hotline and they said give him some water.
Glad he's OK and no bubbles through the nose!!!
