OMG Warts!!

ewwwwwww........... I have warts!! :cry:

I have been worried about this 'mole' on my back that has become really rough during pregnancy and asked about it at my 6 week checkup. And was told it wasn't a mole, it was a wart!! And there are a few more of them near it!! WTF??

But I have more!! It started when I was pregnant with DD1, I got these little tiny rough things on my tummy. Then with DD2 I got a few more and the ones on my back. The only one I really noticed is the bigger one I asked about. And I've noticed them on my nipples too, just a couple of little ones on the very outside of the areola. Gross!! wtf is wrong with me!! :sick: Already not feeling too great about how I look after just having a baby and now I have warts! Ahhhhh.....

Then I just googled them to see how to get rid of it and it said it's caused by the human papillomavirus! Excuse me?? Isn't that an STI?? And the cervical cancer thing?? :o Or is there more than one type? Because I can't have an STI as DH and I have only been with each other and we've been together for 10 yrs.

Anyone have any answers for me? And will they go away or do I need to do something? And is it contagious?? I don't want the girls to get it. Where the hell did they come from in the first place. ewwwwwwww.........I feel so gross now :(

I'm pretty sure warts are an immune thing and during pregnancy your immune system changes so would be worth working on things that improve it. Around 70% of your immune system is in your gut. Lots of fresh garlic, and probiotics (heavy duty not yakult or inner health - go better from a naturopath) and things like that. Lots of water, fresh fruit and vegies will help flush out your system, reducing things that increase acidity in your body, caffeine, soft drinks, alcohol etc.

Thanks Kelly, she did say something about my immune system being suppressed during pregnancy and that's why I got them then. Maybe I should get some more Inliven?

I was going to suggest that ;) I would crank it up too, slowly increase your dose to give you a good boost.

Are they skin tags hun? I got heaps when I was pg under my arms :o Still need to go and get them burnt off but don't stress too much! Harmless and pretty painless to remove. :hug:

YES HPV is an STI but there are about 100 strains of HPV, and it's only and STI if you've got it on your cervix/vaginally. Many people have some strains as natural flora.

Warts are actually all in your head - that is, you can talk yourself out of them.
2 or so sessions with a hypnotherapist will get rid of them, never to return.

Oh phew, so it's just a different strain, a virus, not an STI. Freaked me out hearing 'HPV' lol. But I couldn't have an STI anyway.

Are you serious?? Never heard that before! But how could it be in my head if I didn't even know it was a wart?? lol.

Mine haven't gone away on their own ever, but I also do have HPV on my cervix which apprears resistant to burning, so maybe I'm just germy lol. Just for the record I've only had 2 partners and both have tested negative for HPV so it's just my natural flora.
When I was doing my nursing training I had no fingerprints - that's how bad they were. Enough to get me into a medication trial which worked wonders and I never had another back until the kids.

My mum and my aunt however have theirs come and go.

Yep, the virus (The strain that causes the warts you are talking about) can be overcome by your mind. As ****y as that sounds lol it is true.

But yes, the hypno will get rid of them, affirmations and a couple of sessions will get rid of them - I used to have them very badly on my hands and wrists. I have been wart free for about 16 years now. It is more effective than freezing, burning etc, because those methods don't actually attack the virus itself, merely the symptom (the wart).

There are lots of different types of virus and immune responses that cause them, did she tell you what the warts are called? I had a plantar (sp?) wart it was contagious, my feral housemate had them all over his feet and showered and didnt tell anyone else he had them so we all got them and after all the treatments from the drs it was actually some nasty self slicing that got rid of mine permanently *disclaimer* monkey see monkey don't! :) I don't recommend trying it at home lol

ive had one come up on my foot & belly since being pregnant, im going to the doctor to get them burnt off one day, ive had one on the inside of my rude finger for years so ill get that one done too, im not too worried about them though..

yeah dont try slicing them off at home like wr said haha! i tried to razor my finger one off, ouchies :(

Ahh the virus is horrible.

I had one on my ring finger and had ir frozen off at least 6 times. Never worked because it went so deep.

Dr decided he would then burn it of with a soldering iron type thing and that was horrific. Had to have needle to numb then to smell your own flesh burning (plus it stunk out the clinic to) resulted in me passing out and alot of pain afterwards. So not something I reccomend.

i had them on my feet from dancing and sharing shoes etc

i actually had to have surgery and skin grafts as they took over so much of my foot :(
but the basic everyday wart, can eb frozen off, treated with medications, or cut out.

they may return when your run down they may not.

OMG they're almost gone!!

After you said about the hypnotherapy LS I googled it and some people said they got rid of them just by doing things like shining a torch on them once a day and imagining them shrinking. Anyways, being the slacker that I am I didn't do anything except imagine that they were falling off whenever I remembered to do it. Then last night in bed DH was rubbing my back and noticed that they're gone except for a little bit of the biggest one that I got checked out!! OMG did I actually think them off?? lol.

They're still on my tummy though, I was only imagining getting rid of that one on my back. Thinking of the ones on my tummy now, wish me luck.

So weird. DH thinks I'm crazy of course, lol.

My hypno used a grey lead pencil to draw around them during sessions. It is just a tool to help focus the energy. But it works.

Now imagine what you could do if you dedicated 5 minutes to it in bed before you went to sleep... Just repeat an affirmation to yourself and focus on them shrinking away, never t return. It will work!
