So we've been TT our DS for around 2 months now. We started by wearing no pants and using a potty. He got the idea in about 2 days for wee. We've now transitioned to the toilet instead of the potty with no issues.
Poo is still an issue - he'll only do it in a nappy but we know that will come in time so we're not too worried about that.
Our biggest issue is that if he's wearing jocks he wees in them. I remind him and he still seems to do it in his jocks.
Any ideas???
Star chart? Start off small, a small treat for the first time (just choosing a sticker is a treat!) and the a bit of a bigger treat when you get to 3 or 5?
Otherwise, lots of reminding, walk in with him to the toilet maybe? Good luck :)
Maybe the underwear are confusing him and he thinks it's a nappy, how about trying no undies but loose shorts instead?

Danielle -we've tried just shorts and no jocks - still the same.
Kazbah - I probably should have said that he is completely unresponsive to reward systems. However, we haven't tried for a couple of months so it may be worth another go.

Im having the same issue here, DD has been using the toilet on her own for a few months but if she has a nappy or undies on she will soil them. Does anyone else have any more suggestions? How is it going for you now BabyMama?
My DD1 is the same as well
Another one here who is fine naked, but wee's in shorts or undies!! Only to add to my frustration, he wont use the toilet, but prefers to go utside to wee!!
He also will not poo in a toilet or potty (or thankfully outside :p) but will ask for a nappy when he has to poo (so he knows, no problem there)
My DS is also bed time trained if he goes to sleep naked, he has naps and the odd night where we dont put a nappy on him and he is fine, but if he is wearing pj's or shorts or something he will wt.
I agree its the feeling of wearing something that makes them think its ok to wee. DS has gone stagnet in the tt area since we moved. I am hoping now its winter i can start to get him to wear clothes without a nappy and progress..

OMG I'm having the exact same issue!!! She even does wees in her undies/pants and looks all confused saying "Mummy I'm all wet!" Like "how did that happen?!" :lol:
Don't know how to progress - she has been stuck like this for months. The MCHN said just to persist - as soon as she wakes, nappy off and undies on. If she wees in them, wet undies off, dry ones on. She said she'll get the hang of it soon enough but it's not happening yet!!
Ocean Princess maybe your MCHN is right. My parents both just tell me to relax and that one day it will all 'click' with DS. I guess that's something that perspective brings. It's so hard while we're in the middle of it though.
I'm sure they will eventually get the hang of it. In the meantime we just keep trying.
Peach - we're still having the same issues. Asks for nappy to poo (though that's not so bad - we figure at least he knows it's coming) and still has accidents while wearing pants. We try not to make a big deal about it - just change the pants and say 'oh well, next time maybe you can do wees on the toilet'. I've always got lots of washing to do :wall:

We had the exact same issue with Liebling. He would be fine with no pants, even use the potty/loo occasionally, but pants were a nightmare. He preferred nappies and would ask for one when he wanted to do something.
I asked him if he wanted pants or nappy, he said nappy. I went with that and didn't stress. He knows himself best - why persist with something he's not ready for? Will you do that when he's old enough to drive and can't control his car? Anyways, Liebling saw his best mate using our loo a few months later and pants all the way - although it took him another 4-5 months to consistantly not poo in his pants, although he knew when one was coming (he could ask for a nappy for a poo, which got rid of all the disposable nappies my mother kept buying me because 3 years in I still didn't really want to do cloth).

It's always good to have a reminder that they will eventually be TT - just in their own time. I'm sure he'll get it soon.
Another here to say my DS was the same lol. It comes in time so don't worry :) just means extra laundry for a while
