When DS was about 3 my sister says to me why didnt you spell it Zayviar...Grrrrr stupid baby brain why didnt i think of it!!! So now im annoyed coz i dont like the spelling!! sorry bout my vent im just really ticked off i mean he has to spell it for the rest of his life anyway so i could of mixed it up more!!! (vent over)

Don't worry :) I'm sure ds won't really mind either way.
-
If it really upsets you that much, why don't you just have it changed? You just do it at the department of births, deaths & marriages.
-
How do you pronounce it?
I'd pronounce the differently depending on their spelling.
-
I like it the way you have spelt it, and I'm sure Ds wont know either way. And thanks for the reminder I still have to officially name my DD - ooops.
-
Personally, of the two I think it is better with the 'e'. It is less like caviar that way!
-
thanks ladies!! lol to the caviar reference never thought of it that way i pronounce it zay-vee-ahh if ya can get that from reading
-
My Dh and i had this same kind of thing we ended up sticking with Xavier.. apparently ( according to one website) anyone who knows english properly will pronounce it zay-vee-ahh
but so far most people say X-ay-vee-ahh ahh well i dont think it matters how you spell a name these days no one is going to know hos to say or spell it!
-
MB thats exactly why i wanted to spell it with a Z and not and X coz personally im not a fan of x-ay-vee-ahh IYKWIM???
-
nah nah your spelling is so much better with the ' er ' on the end ... cause with the ' ar ' on the end as your sister suggested reminds me of caviar ... i vote to keep the ' er ' on the end as you have it:thumbsup:
