VBA2C Induction?
Ok, last ditch effort here ;-)
Any positive induction stories for VBA2C mumma's out there?
My cervix is closed, I have tried raspberry leaf tea and capsules, dtd, walks, heavy housework, homeopathics, acupuncture, thinking positive and conversely, not thinking at all and switching off from it all ;-)
I mentioned some medical induction methods to the ob and was shot down in flames :-/
Maybe baby and body aren't on the same page yet. I have until Monday, which is the date dh and I have agreed on to be our 'end date', for a few reasons ;-)

My OB offered me the balloon method of induction as it's the least risky for us.
I did refuse though cos my cervix wasn't favorable at 42 weeks, so had another section. I didnt want the kind of pressure and risks that induction brings.
Have you tried EPO yet? That's supposed to help ripen the cervix, rlt won't help at all for that
It's hard when you have the pressure to go into labour, I really believe that the pressure itself can stop us from going into labour. Have you done acupuncture? Acupressure? Written your fear list? That can be a good release in itself. The night before I went into labour I had a big emotional meltdown about (funnily enough) not going into labour! Then I went for a big walk with DH and just focused on nature - instead of my belly :)
Good luck xxxx
Oh and sorry I haven't replied to fb message yet - haven't been on my laptop and I hate frikkin typing on my iPhone.

Is a stretch & sweep out of the question? (Assuming your cervix lets a finger in)
I reckon lots of sex really helped me have a spontaneous labour this time, as well as the S&S.
I have everything crossed for you Leesa

I think I will give epo a crack actually Mel, it can't hurt, right?
Apparently the stretch and sweep can't even be attempted, no access :-(
Since the last ob appt my mindset is "this baby just won't come out, so don't expect to go into labour", so now I am just carrying on and have stopped analyzing all the niggles and pre labour signs and am just totally (trying) to surrender.
Mel, I feel a bit stronger in this 'possible' c/s I face decision now. Despite being denied by the ob, I wouldn't want to induced should I be 'unfavorable' either. Then I could face the worst case c/s scenario, which for me is being knocked out totally for bubs birth..
Thanks ladies :-)

P.s - Mel, I don't blame you, typing via iPhone gives me the grrr's too!

what about accupunture???
-
I have had two sessions of acupuncture last week, it didn't work unfortunately

I thought i was never going to go into labour with DS, but i had a warm bath with some oils burning and a trashy mag and just switched off i was in there for a good hour then went for a walk to pick up DD. Labour began as soon as i picked her up i think just shutting off and not thinking about anything other than what was in my trashy mag :P really helped clear my head and not stress so much

Have you cleaned all the light fittings in your house? Seems to have done the trick for Epacris! :) Go find some bugs to harrass out of their homes!
-
Ha ha winter!!! I will see what I can find :)
-
:leap: Under the fridge, under the fridge, don’t forget to clean under the fridge!
Seriously gorgeous, sending you calm, warm labour vibes (with some whatever-will-be-will-be vibes thrown in for good measure). Thinking of you and wishing you all the best. :goodluck:

It's not safe to give a VBAC'ing woman anything artificial that will strengthen her contractions. That will give you a rupture risk from induction plus the rupture risk from the scar. Hang in there!!!

Hey Leesa,
May I suggest a "pregnancy massage" - I had a massage at about 3 in the afternoon and went into labour in the early hours of the morning and got a VBAC (5 hour labour with minimal intervention)
I swear it worked!!!
If it doesnt do anything it is just lovely and relaxing too!!
All the very best Leesa

I know our situations are totally different but I remember feeling the same way as I approached and passed the 42-week mark again...:wall:
I really hope that a combination of all your efforts (and bug removal) as well as our collective thoughts and prayers can get things happening for you

Massage with Clary Sage oil?
DTD?
Do some full wiggly dancing? (Mel can talk you through that one :p )

I'd be taking some evening primrose oil both orally and vaginally. Sorry don't have any VBAC info for you but wishing you all the best!
Hot indian curry night perhaps too?
