Single mumma with large families

I would love to chat to other mums in the same position.
Having a large family can be hard at times but doing it on your own brings a new set of challenges.
I never get any time off...there is no one there to help you out with the kids, to let you sleep in, help you out when you are sick, watch the kids while you go to the shops...etc.
My older 4 kids dad (my 1st DH) passed away last year so it is just me to parent them and my 2nd DH (dad of my 3 younger children) is not a lot of help...he takes the girls for one night...5pm - 8.30am and occasionally takes our son but has not has him for two weeks.
I wouldn't swap it for anything...I love having a large family and I adore all my children but would like a night off occasionally....or a week in Bali :rofl:

I feel you! Every time I see you I wonder how the hell you manage! I only have 4 & I'm struggling!
I do have a DH, but he's away. Its very rare he helps with anything anyway. I'm still the one running on empty while he sleeps in when he's here.
I do enjoy the freedom without him, but its hard when there's no one to bear the brunt of your frusteration & it all ends up on the kids :( And shopping is damn near impossible!!

The freedom without them can be a good thing :D
I know that everyone is happier now he is gone and the house does run smoother.
Grr to your DH for not helping out...with 4 kids you really need it. Sometimes they are as much work as the kids :lol:
How often does he work away?

He's been away for a month. Was sposed to be back this week for DD1's birthday, but another job came up :rolleyes: So he's away full time. I don't know when he'll be home again.
Its less stressful. He makes as much mess as the kids. plates, cups, shoes, socks etc left all over the floor. So thats why its easier without him! There's less mess!!
Just took them all to the markets. Got my potatoes & honey there! Saved me a trip to the supermarket in town... So much less stressful! Awesome prices too!
Mango butter, passionfruit butter & mango & strawberry jam...... YUM! You don't get them at woolies!
