Cough
DD is almost 11 months old and has a horrible cough :( We have had her at the doctors and he said she is totally fine and that it may NEVER go away. WTF? I *think* he meant that it won't go away until she has grown a little more and her lungs are more developed. He was fairly whatever about it all and said that he understood we wanted a proper diagnosis but babies often gets coughs and colds that last for months on end without any explanation. So okay, I am cool with that I guess. BUT my poor DD is in bed now and has been for 1 hour and I can hear her coughing and sighing and letting out little whinges every now and then because she wants to go to sleep but obviously can't. We gave her some panadol but what else can I do? I should have thought to put some vicks on her chest and feet but didn't. Any other suggestions??

Maybe give her a bath/shower right before bed close all the doors and windows and make it as steamy as possible helps my DS go to sleep when he is chesty

Poor X.. unfortunately I don't think there is much you can do unless it is infection related, but vicks might help open the airways a bit
PS - LOVE the new avvy!!

Keep her warm, elevate her cot and get a vaporizer for her room it will help keep her more comfortable.
I would seek a second opinion, there are a few things that can cause a cough including croup, bonchioitis which can be treated with redipred. Antibiotics won't help if there's no infection but the gp should have suggested things to keep her comfortable.

Have you tried Brauers Cough Relief - we had success with that when DS had a persistent cough when he was six months.
