4 month old having tantrums...???

DS is almost 4 months old (15 weeks), and it seriously seems like he is having tantrums. if i kind of ignore it, he stops. its not a cry,its more of a growl explosion out of his mouth. lol. he's also started crying and it sounds really sad. (makes me wanna cry).

are these just new sounds that he is practising. or could he be teething??

he's drooling lots, and is eating his hands all the time. and nosedives onto anything that looks chewable.

im finding it really difficult to dicipher all the cues. he's always been a screamer, but i thought that kind of stops after the 3 month mark.

I remember writing some where about DD seeming like she was having tantrums as 5 months old. Like getting a bit stroppy and slamming a leg or arm down. I think she just stopped doing it and it didn't coincide with anything it particular, she didn't get a tooth until 7.5 months. It certainly didn't develop into anything bigger or badder, just went away I think.

lol i read whilst I was reading your post as your bub sounds just like my DS haha. He has done all of what you say for a while now, I just take it as they are just growing and learning and developing new ways of expressing emotions and they can come across as "tantrum". They are always changing, and once they have the leg stomping all worked out I'm sure they'll move to other things and ways of doing things. My boy has always been a screamer too hehe definitely demanding but I do think it's most likely just practising and going through a stage. My bub also munches on absolutely everything (well tries to)and for the last 3 months we've been trying to find that first tooth we could have sworn is causing all the drama lol but no tooth yet!! ;) And gotta love the nosediving! So cute how you can see all the excitement and frustration and different emotions more evidently from them as they grow.

Ds gets like this once he is tired, it's very different to how the girls react. He will be fine and then just crack it, he doesn't stop until he is settled in bed.
