Night nappies for a very heavy wetting larger size child (6-7)
Hey guys,
My DS has aspergers, and is nowhere near ready to night train - he is so sound asleep shaking him and picking him up etc will not wake him, the smoke alarm could go off outside his room and he wouldn't wake up, so he just isn't able to wake up to go to the toilet.
We have one of those special sheets that goes over the fitted on his bed, but he is such a heavy wetter that he often soaks through his nappies (the largest size Aldi ones), and if often goes on top onto the doona etc, which then all has to get washed.
We are also having problems as we can only just get the biggest size done up, so it ain't going to last too much longer.
He is only 5 but wears a size 6-7 clothing.
I did contact somebody who makes nappies about making something to fit him, but never heard back.
Does anyone have any advice about what I can do? Does anyone know who will make a larger size night nappy? Or alternatively I am currently doing sewing lessons, so is it possible to get patterns and instructions and then sew it myself? That way I can make sure it fits as I make it. What material would I make it out of? I was hoping for some all-in-one option that I can put (a lot of!) extra boosters into.
Thanks so much, I'm getting desperate.. I have so much on my plate generally and this is just another thing that ends up adding to my workload.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated to this very frazzled mummy!
