TTC after IUD
Hi everyone, has anyone had any trouble conceiving after having Mirena removed?
I had nothing but trouble when it was in, always had pain which specialist told me could not be caused by the iud. After having it in for 2 years I had it removed 8 months ago then almost heomoraged the next day. After I recovered about 6 weeks later we started TTC but having no luck :(
DD1 was conceived on the pill, DD2 was conceived first month of trying so havnt had any probs before.
Anyone else had probs conceiving after Mirena?
TIA

My cycles were wonky for a few months after the Mirena was removed, bleeding every 16 days. I had the Mirena for four years and i'm also now in my *cough* mid 30s. A friend recommended some supplements for my hormone balance. They worked very quickly and within a cycle I was back on track with lots of fertility signs that hadn't been there. We didn't start TTC for about six more months and I made sure I was on the supplements for about a month or so. We were successful first try. I think the time and support I gave my body were big factors.

Mine has been out for 3 years now and still no sticky BFP.
My cycles returned to the typical perfect 28 days within a month but over the last 6months they have blown out to 32-35 days.

Maddianna - I noticed on your signature that you are expecting twins in Feb next year!! Congrats!!! How long did it take until you eventually fell? I am getting my Mirena out in 4 weeks, and we are hoping to fall asap.. I have read quite a few posts where some women have had multiple miscarriages after having their Mirena removed, so I am interested to hear as many different perspectives as possible :)

Thanks! We are very excited! :D
11 months from removal to pregnancy! We had no miscarriages though, it just wouldnt happen ;)
Best of luck with your journey, I would reccommend getting it out a couple of months before you want to start and use other contraceptions until you want to concieve.. Just to give your body a head start ;)

Thanks hunni, that's what I was thinking - wait a few cycles (months) to clean out IYKWIM ;) and let my body get back into some sort of 'normality' if there is such a thing! :)
