What do you miss about having a newborn?

Now I am not having any more children and I really don't want anymore either :lol: but from time to time I miss the newborn stage

I don't get clucky with friends baby's and I don't get the same feelings if I hold them (which I rarely do I am scared of others peoples baby's) like I did with my children

so this is what I miss
~ That smell when they are sound asleep on your shoulder
~That warm little body laying on you
~the ever so fuzzy hair tickling my nose
~The middle of the night feeds when it was just me and baby

There are probably so many more things I miss.

Ah well one day hopefully I will have grandchildren to cuddle up with and hopefully I will have the same feelings with them as I did with my own children

(should add I love the stage and age my kids are at and really couldn't go back to the newborn stage but it had so many more good times then bad and I wish I could do it all over again and really cherish it kwim? )

i miss the their smell and breastfeeding

The sweet smell of a bf bub.
The contented sighs and happy noises while they're feeding
Watching them fall asleep in your lap.
Rediculously tiny nails and oh so soft skin.
That intense eye contact.
I'd love another baby, I just don't want a bigger family.

I cant' have anymore, I think I would have made that decision anyway but to have it made for me - kinda knocked me for a 6.

I miss
- the sleeping baby on the breast,
- the tiny NB nappies,
- the soft sighs in their sleep,
- the jerky little movements,
- that overwhelming feeling of love that educes you to tears,
- the cry of a newborn,
- little itty bitty hiccups,
- the smell of a freshly bathed bubba
- being in hospital for a week and being waited on hand and foot!! lmao

I miss all of the above that has been mentioned plus I love that they love you unconditionally, that you are enough for them. Makes me tear up :(

My newborn was a bit different to most, being in hospital where we weren't allowed to hold her a great deal for over a month.

But when we got her home at 6 1/2 weeks, she was only 5 days past her due date, so technically a newborn.

I miss her snuggles.
Holding her while she slept for hours upon hours. Especially in hospital where they wouldn't wake her to feed, just stick it down her tube.
The hiccups. Watching her whole body suck into one spot in her chest. And the squeaky noises she made if you were holding her while she was hiccuping.
The tiniest little squeaks that were meant to be cries.
The way she would sleep, holding my finger. Never letting go.

....I want DD to be 4lb again. She was so cute! lol. Now she's a 10 1/2 lb boofa.

My baby is only 9 weeks but she is my last so the things i will miss are:

-their smell
-the smell of their clothes washed in Lux Flakes
-their soft skin
-the so innocent smile you get from them when you look deep in their eyes.. melts my heart
-cuddling them to sleep all wrapped up like a little parcel
-their little sounds and cooing
And 2 strange ones but i will miss..
-the build up of fluff in their hands
-and the smell of newborn poos (at the pumpkin stage lol) :lol: it just has a sweet newborn smell to it, as appose to the feral ones they get when they start solids!

i love the way you touch there cheek and they try and attack you with there mouth im enjoying all these things mentioned at the moment this may sound silly but i also love to look at my lill mans perfect lil head and his gorgeous soft hair

i miss the sleeping baby lol shes still little

i think i just really miss the eating sleeping stage lol

I know what you mean about the poos lol.. I don't miss them though., but yes the little bits of fluff in their hands.,. Where on earth did it comes from

and I totally forgot breastfeeding. I nfact I think that is what I miss them most..

Another thing I miss is seeing my Dh laying on the couch with this tiny little body on him.. Now they are just great big boofs who kick and wriggle I guess like a newborn but now they hurt :lol:

I loved having a newborn. they were so tiny and cuddly. I loved the tiny clothes.

I too miss a lot of the things mentioned by PP but my favorite thing is watching them root around for the breast. I LOVED that with DD. Felt like I had a little woodpecker at my chest :lol:

I miss that smell, the feeling of them being so reliant on you, the way they finish a feed with that glazed over content look in there eye and a milky mouth.
I miss late night snuggles, playing with tiny hands, soft downy head, eyes that can't get enough of you, soft skin.
The feeling of them sound asleep on your chest...the warmth and love between the two of you.
I am not having any more and I am sad I didn't get that brand newborn stage with my last two.

The smell of LUX flakes.

Those beautiful cuddles during horrible hours of the night.

yep I admit I am doing that now. I just want to rewind back to one of my baby's newborn stage just for one night..

I used to love that glazed milk drunk look and seeing them dribble milk everywhere..

what i miss about the newborn stage . . .

- the hand movements so dainty and elegant, they remind me of Balinese dancing

- how it takes all their energy to drink

- the noisy sucking and gulping

- the contented milk drunk sleep after a feed

- the folds of velvetty skin on arms, legs, shoulders

- the trusting eyes that search you out

- the kicking legs, continually bicycling the air

- fitting into the tiny nb nappies, with the skinny legs sticking out of the fluffy butt

Even though she's a gorgeous four years old bilby now, i miss the memories of when she was a nb bilby.

my baby is almost 4 months old, so not teeny newborn anymore.

i loved that newborn smell in the days after he was born. i actually kept a jumpsuit that he wore and put it in my little momentos box unwashed. :)
that scrunched up face and eyes that just don't quite wanna open all the way to see the world.
the way they stay curled up when you pick them up. like when you get them out of the car.
def the overwhelming love that brought me to tears every time i thought of him for those first few weeks.

awww now i want another one. lol. i look forward to doing it all again.

and another one...those pouty lips and sucking the bottom lip. naaawww.

I miss all of the stuff mentioned above. I also miss the way DD would be totally alert one minute and the next she would be asleep. :)
