What has been your favourite age/stage?

As the mother of a 2yo and a 10mth old, I know I have mountains of exciting things in the future for my children. I also know that they have been through so much already in their short lives.

I was recently reflecting on the joys and challenges we have had and wondering if I'll look back in 10 years time and say "Ahh, remember when we had an X aged child? Wasn't that a great age/stage?" and it got me thinking - what has been your favourite age, or stage, with your kidlets?

Feel free to respond if you have kids like my ages or older - I'm interested in all responses!

For me - the sleepy newborn snuggly phase was brilliant, but I am also loving the cuddly "Love you mummy!" phase!

I'd have to say now (DS is 22 months), although to be fair I have said that for each stage of his life to date. I just find that he has so much humour and character - bossing me around, dancing, hiding (and telling me he's doing so!) and everything else hilarious with this age. Tanties aside he is an absolute joy and I wouldn't trade it.

I was never big on the newborn cuddles but I think that was because I had such a hard time adjusting to motherhood. I plan on savouring it with this bub!

Having a 10yr old, a soon to be 9 yr, a 4yr old and a near 6 month old, believe me it is exciting..

Funnily enough i was watching short clips of my kids at their crawling and talking stages today, actually cried, the innocent, all about mummy phase.. LOL..
Gorgeous i love it, the first little steps an dparticular one of my ds's walking around aware of the camera staring with his big blue eyes saying my daba, (dada) and the kids all watching tv with my youngest ds trying to sit on them lol

So my age favourite would be the independant stage, growing to the stage of starting their little journeys of discovering their feet and what to do with them, and the stage of talking, the mixed mumbo jumbo of english and baby babble. :D

I have 6 year old twins and i have to say my fav age with them was 5-10 months as the were smiling laughing and i loved every minute of them when they learnt smething new to do. Id have to say once the walked and talked i had a headache from that day on lol. I love them to pieces but baby stage was my fav by far

i dont even have 4 months experience under my belt, but gosh im excited every day. im just sooooo fascinated by everything he does. every day, he seems different. im also interested in other peoples responses. :)

naaaw yes. and the teeny tiny whimper while they were sleeping in the first few weeks. little night-terrors.lol

Yes that is it and they have either a happy look or a sad face :( That is what draws me to newborns, I dont really favor the newborn stage, its to delicate, im far from a delicate person, But this is the best nawwwwww, sooo tute!!! xoxox

DH and I were talking about this just tonight!

Right now. DD turned 2 in March. She's so switched on and she's clicking on to everything right now. Today we were playing and she got so into it, had her Queen figurine from the Huggies castle and turned to the King and said "Hello. How Are Oooooohhh. I's Good, How Are Oooohhhhh." Just love it. Loving her affectionate snuggles, her kisses. Just everything.

Oh God, you teared me up when I realised that comes to a end - Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!


Although I miss the newborn snuggles, it feels like right now is amazing - Mr just 2 years is showing us something new about 10 times per day, we are constantly in amazement at his new skilks, words, expressions, likes, etc etc. The wonder of a toddler is infectious!!

I LOVE between 2 and 3 years old, they are gaining independance but they are still your babies. I love watching DD1 learning about new things, having a conversation with her and watching her grow into a beautiful little girl :D

i really like 6-9 mths but if i had to pick a fave time i really couldnt watching him grow and learning new things every day is just amazing i love that i can joke around with him now and he gets sacasim and the funny comebacks he has i especially love watching him sleep from birth to know i could watch him all night every day is a new day! he has kearnt to play a game on the computer and i was just watching him in amzement how he knows what to do..i put three games up and then minimise them and he can get to which ever one...im such a proud mummy every day :)

I have an 8yo, 6yo and 5mo. I have enjoyed all of the stages so far... not sure about upcoming puberty with Miss 8 but we'll look for the positives and find our way through it! Without a doubt though, my favourite stage is newborn. That milky smell, the fluffy little head, all curled up in a ball, snuggled into my chest. So utterly defenseless and reliant. Aaahhh... makes me feel all warm and snuggly just thinking about it!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED 18 months to hmm roughly 3.5 years lol! DD1 atm is challenging beyond belief with new kinds of perceptions of reality and her dominance of it :lol:

I am enjoying the young baby stuff this time (last time had a PTSD so not much fun because of that). but TBH i like it and am revelling in it, but i think it's the toddling age that is our "awwwwww how awesome" age...

Ladies thanks for all your lovely responses! I am really enjoying DD as well... And from reading these, I was right in thinking that this is one of the most precious stages... I will try and love her even more! If that's possible ;)

I am really LOVING DD1 right now at 2. She is awesome. I love that I can have a conversation with her now and she can tell me what she's thinking and the pretend play and hearing her little stories, lol. I think this is my fav stage so far and I'm sad she's growing so fast and it might be over soon :(

I'm loving DD2 now too, she's at that smile at everything stage. I like the first month where they're all sleepy and cuddly. Last time I wasn't a big fan of probably 4-10 months. Well, I had fun but it was the most challenging time for us, probably coz of sleep.

I could have 6 two year olds like DD! LOL. We'd have a blast.

My little girl is 2.3 yrs old and I'm loving this age also..... her pretend play, her stories she makes up, her singing, her sillyness, she is so funny and says the funniest things that has us in tears!!, and love the conversations we have as she talks really well for her age.... sometimes people think she is 3!! (she's tall). I think she's growing waaaay too fast and it makes me feel sad but then I just think about how much fun it is and try to remember to enjoy it rather than feel sad about her growing up! :D
I love also this age because DD is so confident and goes up to anyone and talks to people about her chickens and her dog at home etc, she is so not shy!!! LOL

DD said to me the other day when I was crying (crying about it not being just the two of us soon) and she said "its ok Mummy don't cry, it's ok" with maturity beyond her years.....so proud.

Can't wait to have this little bub soon so I can have more energy to get down on the ground and play with DD more..... I feel so limited at the moment and I can't rough and tumble with her etc..... but then that's what her Daddy is for I suppose ;)
