I am happy not to know the sex but my DP really wants to know. He is really good with secrets so i am thinking of getting the ultrasound guy to write it down for him. Just wondering if anyone else has successfully done this or did it end in knowing the sex?:tmi:
A friend of mine did this. She wanted to know but her DH didn't, they wrote it down & gave it to her. She never spilled! Good luck!
Yep, my aunty and uncle butted heads over whether to find out at the u/s or not... I can't remember who wanted to know (I think it was my uncle), but they found out and managed to keep it secret right up until the big day :) If your DP is generally pretty good at keeping secrets then I say go for it, get the u/s tech to write it down for him or something, just remind him not to spill accidentally through choosing paint colours/decor for the nursery or tiny little baby clothes in obviously gender-specific colours!! :) Good luck!
I have never done it but what if you agree beforehand (and practice) to refer to the baby as either a boy or girl so the accidental 'he/she' thing doesn't happen. That is how I know I would slip up.
I foudn out with Jack Jase left the room, he said I did a great job of keeping the secret I even asked the anethsist if the baby was what I thought it was :lol: didn't even spill then
I've found out on my last 2 dh nvee wanted to know but once he knew I knew he would do my head in trying to figure it out.
With my first 2 pregnancies I never found out but my xmil wanted to know so my mum was gonna find out for her but the baby wouldn't show anything lol (that's my boys) lol

My SIL and BIL (DH's side) done this. He knew and wouldn't tell her, even though she was begging him too in the end.
I knew with mysecond but I didn't tell anyone.
I didn't tell anyone much that I knew except for my belly buddies and my sister and a couple of friends. I think it's easier to keep a secret if people don't know that you have one.
I know the gender of this one, dh doesn't. I haven't told anyone that I even know, except for one good friend and she's a great secret keeper. ;) Dh doesn't even know that I know! :redface:
If anyone asks I just say we don't know. (Now I've just outed myself on here I'm not telling any of my BB friends so don't ask! :p :lol: )
Hasn't been an issue at all.
the first time around we found out but the second, hubby wanted to find out but i wanted a surprise.
DH is pants at keeping a secret - i knew he would spill the beans so we didn't find out this time.... in the end DH was happy to have a surprise, it's the 2nd trimester where it still feels like aggges away where he wanted to know.
I knew both times but DH didn't want to know. With DD1 he didn't even know that I knew (I slipped the receptionist at the ultrasound clinic a note explaining the situation, and rang later for the results). With DD2 he knew I would find out again so when we went for the 20 week scan he was "kicked out" after we saw all the good bits of the scan, and the sonographer then told me.
Both times I was able to keep the secret without any trouble. I don't have any regrets finding out with my girls, but this time around I'm tossing up whether or not I should have a surprise.
I knew for all three and DH didn't. I didn't tell anybody at all.
Suited us just fine.
I didn't slip up once, in fact he was confused all three times :lol: Each baby came out different to what he thought. I have a GF, her husband knew and she didn't, that worked out well as well.
