I have used them on a number of occasions. Mainly the salad wrap one for us. From memory i think they cost $30 something and i've never been disapointed with them. I look at the 'vaule' more so in that they don't require any of my time. With a big family/friend base that come to our speical occasions there's a lot to organise and the more help i get the better. I think once i ordered the bbq chicken platter with the pasta salad platter and then bought bread rolls, they worked as a quick easy lunch/meal also. Great for when you're at a park and not a home.

THanks EJ - that was really helpful. they range in prices depending on what you order (of course) but am contemplating using woolies for my baby shower food just because I dont wanna waste a morning doing it myself. My mum and MIL will be making 2 dishes each and I will do the smaller things like anti pasto etc
How many people would 1 platter feed (from memory) there really isnt much info on the site thats all
I like the convenience too! I am one of those people that will pay for someone else to do it because I have better things to do! LOL
ETA - The salad wrap and anti pasto platter's are what we are looking at too :)
We got some for DH's 30th birthday....I am the same with not wanting to run around & do it myself, esp with a few little kiddies about.
At the time of picking them up my Dad & I were like "oh, there's not much on there" so we ran around & got extra cheese etc but in the end never needed it & we had approx 25 people there, we had almost an entire one left.....all round I was happy with them. They were just the simple cheese & dips etc.
I've also been to a Christmas show that had the wraps & cheese & dips.......lots on the platter & all very yummy.
My brother and SIL get these often for family things and I think they're worth the money. They usually get the ones with the deli meats and there's always stacks left over for them, even after two big families plough through! I'm not sure how many the salad wrap one would feed though. Have fun at your baby shower!
How many are you planning on having at your baby shower?? One of each of those platters with the other dishes from the 'grannies to be' would cover quite a a few people i would think.
Ohh I would be interetsed to hear about the coles ones (no safeway near us) as could make life easier for helping out for DS1 3rd bday party!!! If i can get 1 or 2 adult platters and just make a few things for kids easy!!
There will be approx 30 ppl, so i figured with the 2 mothers doing dishes and we get some lollies and other snacks we should be well and truly covered. I'll just be really embarrassed if there isnt enough food LOL:
I'd hate for you to be short also but i'm pretty sure for 30ish people you should be right. The wraps are a decent size and quite filling, with a few other bits available i'm sure you'd probably have 2 each at the most.
Feeb never tried the coles ones myself so i can't help there. They are a great way to feed the adults :)
We recently got a couple for DD's birthday and they were a hit - we had heaps left over though! One had artichokes on it but we simply asked them to swap them for the stuffed bell peppers and they did so - I swapped a couple of things on the platter for the stuffed peppers. We think they are yum so made sure they were on there :)

I have had from both Woolies and Coles, and they have all been great.. I can make them slightly cheaper myself (saving between $5 and $10), but it is only worth it if I have the time to run around to get the ingredients and put it together..
my sister had them for my nephews party she had 2 wrap one and a anti pasto sort of one fantastic value so much food...left over as well, also I reused the platter on a few occasions for BBQ etc
Someone I know works at Safeway (Woolworths) in a store management position and they say a couple of them are priced below cost. In other words, you couldnt make them for the price Safeway charges. Can't complain about that!
I've had both, I think they are great value, and they really do go a long way
