What do you pack up for a Picnic?

Hi all

Just curious what you pack up for a picnic. Went with all the kids and MIL on one the other day, it was ok, but was just the standard boring meat sandwiches, chips and lamingtons. There were a couple of other families in the picnic area, and I found myself trying to sneak a look at there lunch on the way to the loo ;)
So rather than embarrassing myself by peeking :redface: why don't all you lovely ladies tell me what's in your picnic esky's and hampers :)

Quiche - whether it be mini quiches or a large one
Bacon and egg pie (only when I can really be bothered!!;))
Cold or hot chicken and fresh rolls
Dip and crackers and cut up carrot etc

We usually do Cold chicken wings or mini quiches, roast chicken, mini sausage rolls etc.
We then have dips, crackers, carrot, celery, cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes, capsicum slices, tasty cheese cubes, camembert, fetta, olives, grapes, watermelon.
Chocolate of course. We love finger foods for our picnics, lot's of nibblies!

I pack fresh rolls, all salad pre-cut in individual containers, cold meats (so everyone makes there own)
Also mini quiches, chips, bickies and dip, cut up fruit, muffins and chocolate biscuits.

I always seem to pack the same things which I love but don't have all the time.
Corn thins to put peanut butter on with salad :p
Apricot logs or bites
Chocolate coated peanuts & Sultanas
Juice (we don't usually drink it)
Banana and mandarin
Hot and Spicy bar mix snack thingo mix stuff from the fruit/nut and seed bar in the supermarket

Honestly if I were more creative I'd love to take red wine, soft cheese, dips, crackers, chilli olives and maybe some turkish bread with taziki and a home made pumpkin dip with ginger and coriander in it.

Fresh bread or wraps (Mission are our favourite brand of wraps), BBQ chicken and a tossed salad so it can either be eaten on the side or in a wrap/sandwich, cheese and dip platter, antipasto goodies, chips, some fruit, sparkling mineral water and wine - when not PG! ;)

I make a cob loaf sandwich that is packed with roasted vegetables such as capsicum, zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms etc and ham, salami & cheeses - fetta, chedder & parmesan mostly. I wrap it in foil and bake it before we leave. We then cut it up there and it is delicious hot or cold. I sometimes make greek style lamb cutlets, quiches etc. I usually always take along something sweet too - cupcakes, brownies, scones etc.

LOTS of things. The taste picnic section is huge I get lots of ideas from there.

Depends how planned the picnic is! Our stock standard is bbq chook (hot or cold), bread rolls and a bit of salad. Often picked up on the way haha.

I might be the one envying your next picnic hamper BF! haha

We have a stock standard picnic here.... the same everytime!

salsa
carrot sticks
pita bread snacks for dipping
sandwiches for the kids
loaf of bread not cut so I can cut thick pieces
cheese, goats cheese usually
baby spinach
sliced tomato
thermos of coffee
water for kidlets
DH & I will create out own sandwiches or just open face bread with cheese, spinach and tomato and snack away....
